Good quality umbrella, could do with increasing size a bit more as only covers top quarter of your body.

This is about the best umbrella I have bought, although it is a bit heavy. Have the umbrella up quickly with a touch of a button. Also good coverage. Great umbrella; Would recommend it.

This purchase is a replacement for the one which got accidentally trapped in a door & broke. I had no hesitation in buying the same item which is compact yet perfect for purpose.

An oily mess

No, I don't recommend this
Just picked up one of these in my local store. Got home and opened it up to see what it was like. The whole length of the stem was covered in oil, which I got all over my hands. Just lucky I didn’t wait until I was out to use it for the first time as wouldn’t have been able to wash it off. Umbrella has gone straight in the bin.

Automatic unlocking mechanism failed
Originally posted on marksandspencer.com (UK)
No, I don't recommend this
After the second or third time of use, I pressed the button to open the umbrella and found that the automatic unlocking mechanism was jammed and I was unable to open the umbrella. I unscrewed and removed the handle (watch out for a small spring on removing the handle) and, after a bit of poking around, was able to free the mechanism. However, two or three uses later, the mechanism failed again, this time permanently. I won't buy an umbrella from M&S again.

Nice umbrella with serious design flaw

I've now owned two of these – the first lasted several weeks before failing; the second only three. In both cases the auto-open mechanism failed when a length of elastic came out of the mechanism. After much fiddling I was able to get the first umbrella to function to some extent for a while, but it eventually jammed completely and I was unable to collapse the umbrella. The same thing happened with the second, except it is jammed in the closed position this time. Given the price of these items, I'd really expect them to last more than a few weeks of light occasional use.

Auto mechanism stopped working
Originally posted on marksandspencer.com (UK)
No, I don't recommend this
Bought this umbrella due to it's compact size and auto up and down mechanism, at a press of a button. A month in and the auto up works fine, but now rather annoyingly, pressing the button to bring the umbrella down has stopped working. I know you can just pull the spring loaded umbrella back down, but it's really cumbersome when you are carrying other items!

Size is kinda ok, cool color, not too compact, not big enough to cover tall users fully. Love the u-shape hoke at the end, good and comfortable grip.

Bought this for son to use to and from work. He was very pleased, quality excellent, much better than his previous umbrella that blew inside out all the time. Masculine style so he doesn't mind using it.
