Canvas Espadrilles

Smart and light but not as comfortable as previous pairs with elastic at both sides.

I bought these a size larger than I usually get but still too narrow

Had to return although good quality and style the fitting was very narrow and I couldn’t get them on.

Having worn out my previous pairs of these canvas shoes, I blindly purchased a replacement pair only to discover a change in specification to the product. The shoes now only have one elastic section (previously there were two) and so are nearly impossible to put on and do not have much ‘flex’ when being worn. I also find the cork insole less comfortable than the previous material insole. If only I had read the reviews before purchasing .....

Have bought these a few times over the years as house shoes. Got fed up with slippers stinking after a few months so tried these. Think it must be the cork insole that does the trick because these NEVER smell. Perfectly comfortable indoors, fit is comfortable not tight. Don't wear them outside so can't comment on what they are like on paths. In the past the rope surround was prone to coming away from the shoe, but that didn't happen on the last pair. Anyway, a dab of super glue and it was ready to go again.

My father-in-law loved these so much I've bought him a new pair in blue & he live the colour.

Unable to get my husband to wear traditional slippers but these he loves .

I've been buying M&S espadrilles for years and I've always been very pleased with them but the design has changed to make them inflexible over the arch of the foot and the new design is like wearing a tourniquet. I wore them for about an hour before admitting to myself that my feet were being starved of oxygen. My feet still hurt the following day.

These are fairly well made but, if you have a high in-step you may find them difficult to put on as there is only one elasticated expanding bellow between the collar and tongue which instead of being at 45 degrees is vertical and really only allows the shoe to expand lengthways and not in height. In my size (9) I could not get them on at all. I already have M&S Espadrilles purchased some time ago which have two expanding bellows and have been able to easily slip them on and off, so it is just the design of this particular shoe. Depending on your particular foot shape these may be fine or may be not and I would not down rate them for quality or value.

I bought a pair of espadrilles' online as where I now live they have shut that branch of M & S. I have bought these a few times now but this year they have changed the style and fit, they are really poor quality for comfort and fit, where the elastic was on both side it is now only on one side. This makes them tight to get on and when on tight across the top of your foot even though there is plenty of room for your foot when on. reviews on your website seem to confirm my findings. Please bring back the old style they were super comfortable to wear.
