THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO COSY WINTER BEDDING

Stay snug all season with our warm bedding, from brushed cotton duvet covers and pillowcases to our highest-tog duvets, cosy fleece sheets and winter blankets

Choosing the right tog rating for winter warmth

When temperatures start to drop, snuggling up in warm winter bedding can help you relax and boost your mood in moments. Here's how to make your bedroom a snug sanctuary where you can keep cosy when it's cold outside.

A warm winter duvet is a must. Look for the highest-tog duvet you can find – anything from 10.5 tog upwards should keep out the chill. A soft goose down-filled duvet is the last word in luxury, or for sneeze-free snoozing, opt for an anti-allergy duvet. Top tip: when summer comes around, store your thick duvet in a vacuum storage bag so it takes up less space.

The best winter bedding fabrics for ultimate comfort

You can't beat a super-soft fleece bed sheet for an extra-snuggly feeling – team it with our teddy fleece mattress topper for added comfort. Layer up with coordinating duvet covers and pillowcases made from textured fabrics such as brushed cotton for added tactile appeal.

Layer up. Add warm blankets, winter throws and bedspreads for your most snug night's sleep yet. Multiple layers mean you can add or take them away so you're always at the perfect temperature to doze off. For ultimate cosiness, go for an electric blanket to make sure your bed is toasty from the moment you get in.

More ways to keep your bedroom cosy this winter

A warm duvet and winter blankets are key, but sometimes it's the little finishing touches that make all the difference. Choose a table light that gives your room a warm, restful glow; try thermal curtains to help block out the cold as well as the light; and don't forget to make sure you're just as snug as your winter bedding – warm pyjamas and thermal socks will help you stay cosy on chilly mornings, even after you get up (but we say lie in as long as you can).
