The spring catwalks saw the humble belt elevated to new style heights, from wide-waist belts cinching in flowing dresses to skinnier styles knotted over masculine blazers. Thanks to the current Eighties revival, the statement belt is back – and it’s not going anywhere. Personally, I think they are a brilliant (and cost-effective) way to update everyday outfits for the season ahead. Tried-and-tested jeans and polo-neck tops look fresh when you add a pop of colour with a bright-red mock-croc belt. Afraid of the animal-print trend?
