A return to classic tailoring has informed menswear trends for the last few seasons, and it's not going anywhere. You don't have to wear a formal suit, though, to embrace this look – simply mix and match different pieces to give it a contemporary twist. Start with an overcoat – this classic wool design with a plaid pattern can easily be dressed up or down. Try wearing with a lightweight merino wool jumper layered over a crisp T-shirt, leaving a hint of contrasting colour at the collar to keep things interesting. Our easy-to-wear moleskin trousers come in a range of neutral tones and are made from soft cotton-rich fabric from Italy's renowned Emmetex mill. added stretch, give the illusion of smart dressing with the benefit of comfort.
Nothing but a houndstooth
If there's one item of clothing that defines autumn, it's the cosy crew-neck jumper. This season's most-wanted style? Stylish-yet-warm knits featuring striking houndstooth designs which will add subtle flair to everyday outfits. Our must-have jacquard sweater is made with merino wool meaning it's delightfully soft and breathable. Team with our soft brown puppytooth trousers to complement the trend. This pair are cut to flatter and look just as sophisticated teamed with smart derby shoes, suede loafers or leather trainers. 'Scrumpers' (that's jumpers worn as scarves) are also big news this season, and work well with a relaxed weekend look – plus, this simple styling hack will keep you toasty as temperatures drop.
Take flight
The aviator jacket was created for the air force in the First World War – it wasn’t long before spin-offs such as the letterman jacket, complete with college insignias and contrast sleeves, were seen on university campuses, while mod subcultures’ adoption of the bomber only added to its iconic style status. This season, we've updated the aviator jacket with tactile faux-shearling collar and lining for a luxe feel. While the original bomber jacket was made from hardwearing nylon with a zip, today anything goes. Luxurious suede and leather Harrington jackets rub shoulders with zipped styles and quilted fabrics. Play with texture and colour to add interest to your autumn coat line-up.
Grey scale
Big news – this season, top-to-toe grey outfits (or 'groutfits' as they've been coined by the fashion press) will be on high-rotation among the streetstyle set. The best bit? Unlike some trends, grey is easy to wear for any occasion. Channel the look with a fine roll-neck jumper or flannel shirt and smart-casual trousers for a sleek day-to-night look. This plush grey overcoat with notched lapels is an understated power player in our autumn collection – perfect for adding polish to your wardrobe as winter approaches. If you'd prefer to dip a toe into the trend first, you can't go wrong with a few select accessories such as a charcoal-grey cashmere scarf, a suede belt, or a herringbone baker boy hat.
