Nightmare to assemble

No, I don't recommend this

I strongly second the views of the previous reviewer in that this item is of very poor quality construction when viewed from underneath. It does appear to have been constructed from random pieces of wood and bamboo but manages to look solid enough when turned over, although time will tell how long it lasts. It is definitely not worth full price and even the sale price seems too high. The biggest nightmare is the assembly. The product description in the delivery section did state that it would be assembled, but this was apparently an error which M&S are yet to rectify on their website. At first glance one might think how hard could it possibly be to put some legs on. But it took me several hours to do. First you have to screw the legs in place. Photos show legs of varying size and colour, which is not very helpful if you are trying to coordinate different items. The legs on my sofa were dark wood and circular. After screwing legs on so that they point in the correct direction, you then have to secure them from the underside with a washer and nut. This was the trickiest part, as the space to manipulate them is very tight. It took me a combination of using a ratchet set, spanner and wrench (and also lost a spanner inside the sofa). After that tricky task, you then have to secure the legs further with a long screw using an electric screwdriver. If you do not have the relevant tools, you will most certainly struggle. The finished article does look nice in my conservatory, but the cushions are already starting to look a little misshapen despite only occasional use. They will need to be plumped regularly to maintain their shape.

Good looking sofa but poor construction

Beautiful range but you don't realise how poor the quality is until you look underneath! I bought a large sofa and matching footstool. The quality of its construction is VERY poor and very different to the quality of what is visible when the right way up. Rough cuts of wood and dirty bamboo are evident throughout. Footstool - Cushion is completely separate from the base and so just 'sits' on the top of it which means it is completely impractical! There is nothing provided to connect the cushion with the base. The legs for both the footstool and the sofa were ridiculously difficult to fit due to triangular struts across in each corner. I expected self-assembly to be simply a screwing of legs but instead it required a complex approach using nuts/washers/screws in which was horrendously difficult - It took me 6 hours to fit 4 legs on the sofa and the other 4 for the footstool.
