Not usual quality I have expected from M&S. Very creased after first wash and also seem off white already. Also attract black lint from school jumpers and it means having to use lint roller every week when ironing. They don't iron particularly well either, still looked creased.

May be 100% pure cotton but definitely not 100% pure white, more a slightly blue/grey which frankly isn't the biggest problem in the world right now. As long as the school don't complain about non-reg colour (unlikely, they're probably not going to see it till September by which time the shirts won't fit anyway) we're all happy. They are a good slim fit and well made. Stay strong everyone!

It's a bit of a struggle to find nice 100% cotton school shirts. I bought some last year from a competitor of M&S's, but my son's size has been out of stock there for ages and I couldn't wait any longer so I bought these (and the regular fit version of these). They are ok, not great. As other reviewers have said, they are slightly off white. They are also not very long, so the shirt is constantly coming untucked. The collar is good and the arms are a good length. My son is quite skinny and the slim fit is good on him. Wouldn't work if he was any chubbier. They are very reasonably priced (much cheaper than the competitor's version) but this has clearly meant a lower quality of fabric. Personally I would happily pay more for better quality considering how much use we get out of school shirts over the course of a year.

As usual ready to collect very quickly. Sizing was great. I washed the shirts but was a little disappointed that they creased so much, especially as there were only a few shirts in the wash. Will try a slower spin cycle. They did iron fine though with a bit of effort. I’m used M&S shirts ironing easily and these are not easy iron. That said quality as good as always from M&S school shirts.

Unfortunately, these shirts are not white. They have a grey tinge which makes them appear dirty. I returned them.

Cotton school shirts for slim, tall boys

Our 12 year old son is tall and very slim with long arms and legs. We struggle to find good fitting trousers, but shirts are even more difficult as we have not yet found a company providing school shirts with extra long arms. These are the next best alternative, but in the size 13 - 14 which he needs for arm length (and they are only just long enough!!), the collar is very big and the shirt is certainly not slim fitting anymore. Oh and sadly a little tricky to iron. But still better than most available alternatives.
