Looked very smart until i washed them when the fabric turned bobbly, now they look more like something from the charity shop

Nice easy to wear, my only complaint is that the zip stands out when I sit down, so maybe a softer zip would have been better.

Wonderful but made for a giant

I love the look and fit of these trousers and the material is excellent. The problem is that I had to go immediately to an alteration service as Marks thinks that short is around 29 inches inside leg! Short would normally be around 26 inches. Having to spend more money on alterations makes them very expensive.

GREAT CLASSIC STYLE - RUINED BY TOO LIGHT FABRIC

No, I don't recommend this
I ordered these online thinking for the price of them that they'd be the perfect trousers to have to carry me through any evening occasion be it Dinner, Party or Wedding 'Do'. The minute I took them out of the bag though I was disappointed. In order to hang right and move properly Velvet has to have some weight to it, and there is NO weight to these trousers at all. It may be because of the Silk in the fabric but apart from the shine I could find no added value from the addition of Silk the fabric felt soft alright, but it also felt thin and flimsy. They were far too long for my legs and the in-seam looked crooked to me, that might've been caused by the journey from the warehouse to me, but a closer look at the model in the online details shows the same thing, the lack of weight means the hemline looks wobbly. Apart from this being a great style these were a real disappointment so much so that I didn't even bother trying them on.

Nice width for wide cut. Little long for a medium but ok for me as little taller. Found pockets pulled open slightly but not enough to worry about. Probably my hips. Must be ok with other purchasers as many sizes sold out.

At first I Loved them, but they got holes within a day of wearing around the house. Really loved the velvet, the design, but the quality was awful. Really disappointed.

The seam at the back of the trousers appears not to be central, and the pockets stick out a bit, and one has a hole in it already - disappointed

These were too fashionable, eg very wide legs, for me. I just wanted a nice pair of smart velvet trousers - not too baggy and not too tight. Unfortunately at my age these trousers made me look like a clown. Maybe they look good on young, slim, tall girls but they did nothing for me. Shame because the material was lovely and if they had been straight I would have kept them.

Lovely material, very promising - until I tried them on. They felt comfortable but a look in the mirror was enough to make me send them back. I'm not overly 'hippy' but the way the pockets lie on the front meant they stuck out at the sides and then I was not only 'hippy' but a strange shape. I had high hopes for these. If they had been pocket less I'd have kept them. The pockets were just too big and with this very relaxed fabric distorted the shape.

Lovely trousers. Light weight and comfy Was hoping to get matching jacket but sold out in black, however, they will look good with either another jacket or even a jumper etc

Beautiful idea, but the fabric is very thin and I expect would not wash well. Also, I couldn't do it up round my waist. I know I have a belly, but a size 18 usually fits.

Absolutely delighted with these. They are a good fit and the longer length is perfect for me. They are tailored well and will be a staple for years to come.

These trousers are certainly wide, personally I prefer this style as they look nice with a shorter top or sequin jacket. They look lighter in colour online, but I was delighted that they are a true black. I ordered my regular size and length, these are longer than normal, but perfect for wearing with dressy heels. It’s a pity they have to be dry cleaned, as I have washed tops with the same fabric content without any problem.

Hate to say this yet again M & Sbut the quality of old is just not there in these trousers. Promised much but didn't deliver. The fabric is of such poor quality that the trousers just hung without any definition in shape. Had to be returned ...again!

I loved these when I saw them in my local store, I bought my usual size however they came up a bit short, the pockets didn't sit flat and the fabric stuck out at the sides. I thought a longer/larger pair might fall better, and returned the regular, buying a long - however I found the same issues. Other reviewers had mentioned this, however I thought I'd give them a go as you can never tell until you try them on. So these went back too. I was disappointed as I liked the style and fabric. I also had failed to notice the trousers were dry clean only and wanting to wear them over the Christmas period on several occasions, having to go regularly to the cleaners just isn't practical. Can't recommend these trousers based on my own experience, maybe other people won't have the same issues. In addition, I feel they are expensive for what they are, particularly if you have to keep paying for cleaning. So M&S has missed a trick here I think.

Fit really well on bum but considering I bought short they are still a little long so will need to wear a small heel. Look great for the price.
