I bought this as a Christmas present for my husband so have not opened it yet, but my initial thoughts are that it is quite heavy, not a lightweight umbrella that you would pop into a pocket just in case. I expect it will be quite sturdy though.

Great little umbrella which can be stored easily in a small to medium sized bag. Handles wind and rain well and the automated opening feature is ideal.

I bought this mens fold up umbrella, mainly because umbrellas for women are so flimsy ( why?) A good weight, folds up for your handbag, very strong, great handle. Buy this one ladie definitely worth the few pounds more

Bought this umbrella as a replacement of an older M&S umbrella I bought 7 years ago, and this one is just not as good. It has a smaller canopy and doesn't seem to be as sturdy. It's still better than your average Fulton umbrella, but it really makes me miss the quality of that other M&S umbrella.

I really like this umbrella. I've had two before buying this one. It was so good my wife borrowed the 1st one on many occasions for two reasons. 1) it was it opened easily into a good size. 2) She could never fond her own but I always knew where my umbrella was (in my car). The second one of these I took out to a coffee shop as it was raining. Unfortunately someone else must have liked it because someone took it whilst one as meeting my friend in the coffee shop. Hence buying this current one. It's good quality and a good size. Perhaps I should get some kind of chip in it so that if I go say 10m away from it i can track it on my phone, lol. Or am I joking!

Bought this for my son, it is quite heavy but sturdy. He hasn't had occasion to use it yet so can't comment if it will stand the weather that UK has been getting lately.

Good but not exceptional umbrella

No, I don't recommend this
Similar to earlier purchased umbrella from M&S some 5+ years ago which recently suffered a broken rib. This umbrella differs slightly in style of handle, now slightly smaller and the central spine which is now of a larger diameter. Not an improvement. Very effective automatic opening which is rather too powerful with closure now also more heavy requiring additional effort. Not an improvement. Whilst this umbrella is a replacement the older style was of better quality and it remains to be seen whether it will last as long but my feelings are that it will not.

Bought this and it's horrendous - easy to open but to close is impossible and just 2 months on has rusted and has broken so had to throw it away - abysmal

Bought this for my 17 year old son, he was very impressed by the way it went up and down quickly and also the overall size was large, for a very tall lad was great.
