I purchased not only the dressing table and stool but also two bedside tables and the tall chest of drawers, all ordered and delivered together. This furniture is solid and well made. Clearly built to last. I love the fold away mirror on the dressing table. Drawers run smoothly on all pieces and are deep. Delivery was hassle free and on time, the delivery men efficient and polite. I am very happy on all counts. I shall be adding to this range in my main bedroom

Purchasers should be aware that room is required at the back of the dressing table to allow for the central part of the unit to open easily. Other than this, the unit is just as I expected and I am therefore completely satisfied and am enjoying using it. It is good to be able to organise my cosmetics and then shut the lid on them!

Lovely but.....

Lovely to look at and well made BUT interestingly my hair dryer (doesn't fit in either the drawers or main compartment - annoying! Also stool ONLY available in insipid beige - we have re-covered it (madness for a new item but not ideal in a grey bedroom!) SO, we have removed the compartmental inner section to allow room for hairdryer and recovered a brand new stool - hmm. Still, I do like it!

Well made piece of furniture. Lift up mirror is beautifully balanced with make up storage underneath is a good design. Stool is the right height and comfortable. Only downside is the dressing table has to stand away from the wall so that the circular mirror that it’s illustrated with can be hung over it or you can’t lift up the dresser mirror.

Least satisfactory part of the set.

I bought wardrobe, bedside tables and dressing table with stool. I love all of it, but the stool for the dressing table lets it down a bit. The wooden frame is fine and matches all the other stuff, but the seat is made of thin cream plastic, which makes a strange squishy noise and a big dent whenever I sit on it. Ok I have some lockdown pounds, but I'm not that heavy! And because it sinks, it's a bit low when you're using the dressing table mirror. Pity, because the rest of the suite is fantastic.

I've had this dressing table and stool for 4 months. It is great to sit at and put my makeup on instead of using the bathroom mirror. It is a quality item. It is so well designed with plenty of room. I will certainly be buying more of your furniture. It was expensive however well worth the money. As the saying goes: you get what you pay for. Fabulous dressing table, thanks M&S !!

I bought this dressing table when we lived in a previous house, 7 years ago and it is a beautiful piece of furniture that is absolutely fit for purpose and very stylish. We've moved twice since then, and sold the dressing table with the first move when we inherited fitted furniture. Having moved again, and needing new bedroom furniture, I decided I still love this dressing table and bought a new one!

No, I don't recommend this
I love my new dressing table. It's well made, elegant, suits the room. I like the jewellery space and the large mirror... couldn't be better. And the stool looks good too. But the stool is quite a bit too low. I'm over 6 foot and, despite this, when I sit on the lovely soft cushion of the stool, the surface of the dressing table is just below the height of my armpits. I'm trying to think of a way of raising the stool that won't alter the look too much; perhaps a 10cm bar of the same wood, linking the front and back legs on each side... perhaps M&S could persuade their supplier to do the same for future deliveries.

Stunning dressing table, very well made & great to use. It is a bit pricey even with 20% off but it is a centre piece to be admired. Well done M&S.

Don't put it against a wall!

I really like the Sonoma range - sturdy, well made and looks lovely in our bedroom. My only small issue with the dressing table is that you can't place it against the wall as the mirror tilts back about 3 inches over the back edge of the table when fully opened. If the table is against the wall, the mirror will bang against it every time you lift it and be at the wrong angle (I think this might be the source of some of the comments about it being too low). If you place the table correctly, so that you can raise and lower the lid, the table sits away from the wall and (in our case) sticks 3 inches further out than the other pieces (chests of drawers in our case) that we bought to go either side. See photos.

I love my new dressing table, looks modern and contemporary in my new dressing room! Has plenty of space for all of my make-up, hairbrushes etc. - despite me being slightly worried that it would be a bit small when we ordered it. It is a beautifully made piece of furniture that will stand the test of time. Comfy stool and great mirror too.

I researched my choice of dressing table with great care. I wanted something that looks good and is functional. This ticks all the boxes. The delivery guys were fantastic. They were professional and respectful of my home. The table was placed in my bedroom in no time at all, plus all packaging taken away. Fantastic quality product.

Dressing table and stool

Bought to match chest of drawers + bedside cabinets. All looks really great in the bedroom. However the design of the stool looks good and when you immediately sit on the stool feels good, however the thickness of the foam quickly sinks and you end up sitting to low to the table/ mirror. So unfortunately a little disappointed. In the process of asking a local carpenter to remake/ adjust if possible. Don’t want a refund as really pleased with the dressing table. Would I recommend? Yes, but as I say there is a but !!!

The Sonoma dressing table and stool is very timeless piece and well finished. I love the mirror which lifts up from the concealed compartment. There is enough space in the drawers for lots of bits and bobs. The stool is well finished in a faux cream leather and easily stores inder the table. This will last for years to come.
