Classy velvet blazer

Not worn this velvet blazer yet but it fits well and appears to be a timeless piece. Brought in the sale. Original price rather excessive. Packaging could be improved as blazer was crumpled and squashed.

The left front was shorter than the right. The security tag was all left on. I don’t know why I bother.

I was excited for this blazer but it is not worth the money. The back and arms are so tight you can't lift your arms up more than 45° and if you try, the whole blazer lifts up. I bought a size larger than I am too, I'm a petite size 10 but I'm considering re-ordering a size 14 as I really wanted this blazer to work, love how it looks on the model. The details are also just sewn thread by the way, not jewels as I thought. They also are matte looking, not shiny so the blazer isn't as glamorous and 'night out' as I thought. Would have been lovely though as it's lined etc. Mum also said it looks like a dressing gown especially with the belt and texture. Overpriced unfortunately.

Bought this jacket in two sizes as unsure of fit. Beautifully soft and as I didn’t want a structured jacket this is perfect. I am ok with the embroidery on it as not too imposing. True to size

It’s on the dotted size, ordered 16 I’m very broad and it just fits, long covers the bum. It’s absolutely beautiful, the cut shape everything is fab, looks very designer. Have worn it with a dress and jeans each time comments on it. Worth every penny! Classic piece that will always come out!

I’ll be honest, I had my eye on this jacket for sometime, but after reading the initial reviews I was a little dubious ordering it. My fears were put aside when the delivery arrived. A soft, well fitting jacket, beautiful lining and subtle embroidery makes this jacket perfect to dress up or down for this time of year. I’ll enjoy wearing this piece for many years to come.

Saw this with a 30% off offer and though, hey why not. So I did. It's not structured, which is great because you can wear it casually or for more formal events with a sparkly top underneath. The velvet is soft and the embellishment is subtle. I am going to enjoy wearing it.

This is fantastic value for money. The lining and embroidery give the jacket a luxurious feel and it looks a far more expensive item. It can be dressed up or down...so versatile. Love it!

I disagree with the reviews that say this jacket is over embellished...I think it oozes 70’s class and glamour - very Sudio 54 if styled correctly. The cut and quality are also excellent and I can see myself wearing it for years to come.

I shall be dressing this up and down. The added pattern makes it look more interesting and expensive. Fastened or unfastened, belt tied at back, with jeans. Just beautiful. I got this with % off, so even better. It’s lovely and complimented a lot. I did need a size up. Don’t just save for fancy evenings. The pattern makes it easier to dress up or down, softens the look.

I have to agree with the previous reviewer who pleads for M&S not to overdo embellishments. I tried this jacket on in store as the basic design and structure of the jacket is good. It was perfectly lined and the velvet itself is beautifully soft but that is where it ended for me. The dots/spots were superfluous and completely ruined what could have been a must have item. Sorry but on this occasion, no sale I’m afraid.

Utterly gorgeous!
This velvet jacket is simply stunning!! The quality of the material is gorgeous and it has a beautiful ivory silk lining with inside pocket. The fit is perfect, I got my usual size 12. It's a lovely length, comes down over the bum, I'm 5ft 8". Looks gorgeous done up with button and waist tie and equally gorgeous open. So so delighted with this, thank you M&S! I payed full price, see it's on offer now, get it while you can!

This would have been lovely if you had let plain black velvet speak for itself. People have been telling you for YEARS to stop adding extra bits and pieces which ruin an otherwise great garment. I saw this in store - it looks spattered with scrambled egg. Also, adding anything, eg here a different colour, detracts from a garment's versatility. Did you compare a plain sample with this version? Who actually thought this was an improvement? I want M&S to succeed which it will by providing high quality, simple, versatile basics and some quietly stunning pieces with no fussy trims. Returning this obvs.
