Pure Cotton Check Print Car Coat

I bought this coat in the sale for a bargain price of £35. I would have paid full price tbh. Really nice Spring weight and nice fit for taller women i think given its straight tailoring. Needed a slight iron when delivered but cotton mix fabric so i suppose it will be liable to crease slightly. Colour is also lovely as it has a pink tone in the check so again great for current season. Really pleased and would recommend.

Superb quality, classic styling (will not date) with a twist - the blush pink / beige / brown houndstooth check material - it elevates this practical, classic coat to a designer level. It can be dressed up or down, smart shoes and trousers or jeans and chunky trainers. It's another Autograph product of luxury brand detail and quality at a great price. Well done M&S - this coat will serve me for years.

I sent for this coat because I do love a bargain. But it looked hideous from the moment I opened the parcel. I am tall, but ordered a size 14 after reading the reviews. I don't think this is big in that sense. It has a generous cut, but is so straight up and down as to make it shapeless and most unflattering with sleeves that are extra long, and I have long arms! My other criticism is that the fabric is cheap looking, with a flat, almost canvas feel about it. It also seems odd to me that the lining is better than the coat, when more expensive coats have no lining at all. It doesn't make sense. And it doesn't match its photo. How I long for the good quality, long lasting fabrics, and classy designs of yesteryear! I just don't know who this coat is for! I think better designers are sorely needed.

I have bought this in the sale half price, so that does alter my view on this. I liked it obviously overall, but there were negatives which would have deterred my buying at full price. They were; sizing (most people including me went down a size), the poorly finished button holes, lots of cotton edges left. On the plus side, and why I bought it, it was a light classic coat,useful for Spring, raglan set sleeves which suited me,and I just thought it looked very smart. Lovely colouring too. .

I have recently rediscovered coats and have rotated two in winter. Coats always look elegant and you can just about wear anything underneath, very convenient. I love this very English looking coat. The fabric is woven in Italy and the color combination is very classic. It is manufactured in China and if I have one criticism, it is the buttonholes, they don't appear to be of great quality. I have read the reviews on here and have therefore ordered a size 16 instead of my usual 18 and it fits perfectly. A real sales bargain, thank you M&S!

Bought this lovely light weight coat today and cannot wait to wear it. The long line makes it look very classy and I felt fabulous trying it on. It is not the type of coat I would normally buy but I thought it looked interesting and gave it a whirl. Some people in the shop stopped as I tried it on on and advised me to buy it, as I was pondering if it was suitable for me. I can be a bit hesitant when buying something very different but I am really looking forward to wearing it out at night with heels and with jeans and boots in the daytime. This is M&S at its best... Love the psychology of having to buy a smaller size; clever thinking M&S designer!

This coat is a little too straight cut for me and a little too long for a 'car coat' I liked the idea and it looked good on the model but I thought it was too 'buttoned up'. The model is shown with it open and I see why now. If it was shorter, to the knee, and just slightly more A line, it may have worked. I tried the 8 and the 10 but style not right in either.

Attractive coat on line so I ordered a 10 and a 12 as it was unavailable in any store for miles around. The 12 was enormous ( and I sometimes take a 14 in Mark’s clothing) and the 10 was a good fit.....but the sleeves! Oh dear, the raglan fit makes the top of the sleeves huge. On me it looked totally out of proportion. I can remember the oversized look from the 80s and I wasn’t keen on it then. Sadly returned.
