This was a total waste of money. It doesn't even fasten at the front. Don't know exactly what it's meant to be but it isn't like any dressing gown I've ever worn. Will be returning it.

Not at all practical!

Good quality fabric and looks pretty BUT as a dressing gown it's pretty useless! It doesn't meet down the front so can't be used as a cover-up. Very disappointed - the image on the website showed it neatly covering everything it needs to - sadly not actually the case! Only worth buying if you intend to wear pjs or a nightie under it at all times. Sorry Marks, you got it very wrong this time. Wish I'd checked the reviews before I ordered it

Another review suggested getting a size bigger and making a hole (edged on a sewing machine) for a tie to go through making this a wrap style garment. This is what I did and I am pleased with the result. The fabric is a lovely lightweight cotton, ideal for hot weather.

I've always hated dressing gowns with ties. They never stay tied, probably due to my large chest (34g). I have some with zips, but they're all too heavy for hot weather. This is a brilliant concept, I don't have to tie the ties, but I can if I want to. If I don't, it sits beautifully on top of my cotton nightgown. I have never come across this design before and I love it. I got the 12-14 and it fits my large chested 5'2", size 14-16 frame really well. As a cover up, the 16-18 would have been too big. Thanks, M&S, every now and again you take me back to the days when I loved everything I bought from you.

The “NOT a wrap” dressing gown

This dressing gown is disappointing. It does not wrap, has no pockets. Unlike some ladies I don’t feel inclined to alter the design. I’m hoping, without a gift receipt, I am able to change the garment.

Pity the lace did not go all the way round. Orderd a very large size, removed the belt and changed it into a wrap over style. Had to do this as it was impractical.eith the edge to edge fitting. I took notice of the other reviews. It is now a good lightweight summer robe what I wanted but could not find

I fell in love once I saw this gown instore, it’s perfect! The colour is beautiful, the lenght is great, proper lenght, midi, passing a just a little bit the knee, very difficult to find elsewhere, very delicate, sexy but feminine. There is a matching night gown in the same colour but not the one the website recommends though. It didnt work for me as it would pass the gown so I got a chemise in pale blue and they worked perfect together. Dont understand the negative reviews, this gown is stunning, thanks M and S, wish I could find sets like this in satin in the same length.

Really lovely dressing gown - great quality, lightweight and perfect for the summer. The beautiful broiderie anglais makes it seem much more expensive than £25. As per some of the other reviews it is a little frustrating that the gown does not cross over at the front, so I simply cut (and hemmed) a small hole to feed the belt through and now it wraps around 'kimono style' - modesty fully preserved! :)

the design 0f this is all wrong. The ties are in the wrong place so it doesn't wrap over to tie. I will have to take this back for a refund.

When I spotted this dressing gown I though it would be the perfect item for summer and holidays. Lovely light weight cotton, beautiful blue shade, right length but why or why not a proper belt to tie the gown? Because of this I had to get a larger size hoping for a bit more cover up, it's OK if used just at home or in a hotel room, but could not open the door to the postman or go out to peg washing on the line wearing this gown!

Cotton Dressing Gown

I went for this item because it is pure cotton and I like the sleeve length. However the sizing for the waist is so small - I only managed to get the drawstring edge-to-edge which of course is useless. I have now sent for 20-22 - it will probably dwarf me but the waist could be OK. I would like to mention that I am 95% of the time a true 16 and occasionally an 18.
