PETITE Notch Lapel Car Coat with Wool

Have been looking for a new red winter coat for some time. Got this one in the sale and it's even better than I had hoped. Pros: lovely and warm for a relative light-weight, just as warm as my former much thicker coat. Have been wearing it in recent cold weather with biting wind and still warm without feeling dragged down by weight of coat. Perfect for school runs, shops, in and out of the car etc. Cons: You do need a good warm scarf, as the top button is low for a coat, so the wind can whistle in around your chest. Would have been even better style and warmer with three buttons, but as a spare is supplied, I may yet do this Fit: Petite fit flattering even though I'm 5 ft 7, it makes for a longer waist and better fall over the hips. I think it comes out a bit big for its size, as I struggle with fitting coats over a large bust (34F) on a normal body. I was surprised that the 14 fitted very easily, often I have to get a 16 to get over the bust (and live with far too much fabric elsewhere).

It's great that Autograph are doing petite sizes - this is the first coat I've bought that I don't have to shorten the sleeves. The colour is much brighter than in the pictures: more of a tomato ketchup shade than burnt orange. But it does look good with black, grey or navy. As a previous reviewer said, the shoulders are very rounded and the sleeves set low, but as I have sloping shoulders, I'm fine with that. I bought it in the half-price sale, so definitely value for money; I don't think I would have paid the full price

Did go down a size or 2 but I would not call this petite, lengthwise.

Gorgeous petite coat, bang up to date with current trend. Colour and fit are great and it's not bulky or heavy. It looks lovely dressed up or worn more casually, I know I'll get a lot of wear out of this coat. So nice to see M&S providing Autograph and Speziale in petite.
