Wrong measurements

The style looks great but the proportions are all wrong. I ordered 16 Regular. The distance from waist to top of the leg is far too short but the leg length is far too long. Apart from that, packaging was very poor and trousers were so creased i would have had to send them to dry cleaners to be pressed. And, a prominent dirty mark on one of the legs which looked like oil and wouldn't brush off.

Bought With The Matching Jacket

These trousers are lovely, well made and fit beautifully. They do crease easily because they have linen in them and yet the material doesn't feel like linen as it has a slight sheen. I have reviewed the jacket also and my thoughts on both are the same.

I'm 5 ft 4 with long legs, I usually buy 10L and they were great. I wore them with a skinny black and vest and heels as they are wide legs. I think a baggy top as well would be unflattering. Lovely lime / yellow colour.

good quality but not my style

This is a good quality product, but did not suit me at all: it seemed very voluminous and was unflattering for a small person such as myself. Also I did not care for the shiny fabric finish as I was looking for something more obviously linen in texture.

These trousers are of good quality but are very small around waist and hips for the alleged size.

I thought I found the ideal summer trousers, so was very disappointed when I only could do up the waist if I exhaled and stopped breathing. These trousers are very tight at the top even the pleats open out. The material saved there is used to make the trousers too long. I used to be able to pick up a pair of trousers at M&S,16 and short and wear them straight away. Not any more. This year I have bought three pairs and they are all different. I understand that styles make a difference but when I have to put a belt on one pair to prevent it from slipping down and the other pair I can hardly do up then there is something very wrong with M&S.

Not for me

I am a real fan of wide leg trousers, and was hoping that this trouser would be perfect as they seemed to have everything going for them - great colour, lime, good fabric mix and a choice of lengths. At 5'6" I consider myself of average height. In Autograph I can be a size 12 or 14. I chose the 14 Regular and Long lengths. The first disappointment was the fabric, quite shiny and clearly does not travel well as the trousers were very creased. The next disappointment was fit, very good around the waist and seat without being clingy, but from the top of my legs I simply could not believe how much fabric there is. I felt and looked as if I was wearing a very long, wide pair of culottes which completely covered my feet. The only heeled pair of shoes I would want to wear with this style of trouser is a wedge, and it would have to be very high! Strappy sandals or a sling back would be very risky as the fabric would catch in them. I toyed with the idea of sending for the short length, but suspect they would just make me look out of proportion. Shame as the colour is great.

I'm 5'4" tall, a standard size 12, smaller in Autograph. I'm also short-waisted, longer in the leg despite being not very tall. I sent for 10 long. Perfect fit and perfect length with high heels, which is what I will wear with them. Too long for flats. Lovely trousers. Definite wide-leg as picture shows. Recommend. Expensive, but are timeless. Suggest sending for more than one size ( it's always a lottery) I have also reviewed the matching black blazer.

Great style and colour. These trousers look great on and are a good fit. That said I bought two lengths in size 10. One pair was too long but a better fit on top so kept them and are having them taken up. I also bought the matching jacket.

Polyester blend

Ordered online, in black. Didn’t like the feel of the fabric, I should have checked the composition first as these trousers have a higher polyester content than they do linen. I found the fabric rather stiff and unyielding, so have returned these trousers.
