Linen Blend Button Front Waisted Midi Dress

I loved the dress and the style the size 16 was too small I would have needed to go up a size, unfortunately you did not have an 18 in stock. I ordered a size 18 in a similar dress it was too big , I had to go down a size. I think you need to settle on sizing and stick with it across your range of products. I would recommend this dress, but try it on first as you might be disappointed with sizing.

Sadly was not available in a smaller size, so had to return it. Liked style & the fact that it was lined. Would have been great for hot weather.

Great colour and value in the sale - but the front was cut so low that it was impossible for me to wear without something underneath - so regretfully returned.

Read some of the reviews and had doubts but the dress is wonderful. Fits well and the colour is great.

Size 10 very long touches the floor, I am 5ft 4in. Low neckline, shows underwear. Returned.

When this dress arrived in was in a bag screwed up and creased, whoever had tried the dress on previously hadn’t bothered to do up the buttons. The dress was advertised as midi but it came almost down to the floor (I’m 5’ 3”). I measured the length from neck centre back and it measured 50 inches (127cm). The neckline is a very low V., it showed underwear. I could have ironed the dress, taken up the hem, but couldn’t change the neck so it was returned.

I have this dress in the beige/black colour way in a 14 which fits absolutely perfectly, it’s well made, comfortable as it’s a soft, natural linen mix and is very flattering....plenty of compliments when I’ve worn it. I’m so in love with this dress that I decided to go for the red, believing it would be the same fit etc. How wrong could I be?!! I tried a 14 in store...sleeves far too tight, bodice too tight and the waist seemed to be all over the place. Not to be dissuaded, I ordered a 16 online, hoping it would be the same fit as my beige one. What a waste of time! The shoulders and sleeves were even tighter than the 14, the material over the bust was so skimped, every time I moved my arms the facing splayed out. The back however, had far to much material in it, it made the waist at the back drop down to my hips. All I can say M&S, if this is supposed to be the same style dress as the beige one, you’ve seriously messed up with either your design team or manufacturer. If the red one had been the same quality and fit as the beige, I probably would have bought it in all the colours of the rainbow if they’d been available! Because of the inconsistency of your sizing and quality, I no longer feel able to buy online anymore as it just involves more trips to return or post. As a devoted customer (and my husband is a shareholder) for more years than I care to remember, I find this really disheartening.

I did review this dress online before I bought it and so was well aware of all the negativity surrounding its poor quality and fitting. I still bought it for the purpose of travelling abroad on an aircraft.

I have decided to keep this dress but it is too low on the 'V' neck. I will have to put a fastener on it. The rest of the dress is lovely.

Love this dress. I bought it in white and love the addition of a cool cotton lining which means that it’s not in any way see through.

Bought this dress is another colour and fitted perfectly however ordered in this colour and the sizing is off. Tried 2 sizes and both had to be returned as were too small

Loved the colour and style but the material was very cheap and the workmanship unbelievable for M & S. The front hem was THREE INCHES higher on one side at the front. I then sent off for another thinking it was a one off, but on the second dress the waist was a couple of inches higher at the front. Very disappointing!

I was looking for a white summer dress for ages but was very disappointed in this one. It ordered a size 12 as usual but it hung like a sack and had no shape. On the plus side it didn't seem to be very see-through.
