Frill Collar Waisted Midi Dress

Not even a 20% offer could tempt me to keep this dress. It looks great online, and I had grand plans to wear this with my black biker boots. However, the dress just hung off me. I bought my usual size 8 but found it drowned me. I’m 5’7” and I felt it was somewhere between a midi and a maxi. Overall, my high expectations fell flat on their face :(

As a curvy size 14/16 I love M&S midi dresses, especially the popular one from last year with elasicated wide waist as it skimmed over my bottom half, and gave shape to my top half. This does not! It goes straight down from the waist, so far to tight on my bottom and not at all flattering.

Ordered online and didn't even take it out of the plastic as I could see it was much too long. I am just under 5'3'' and it was a maxi on me not a midi which made it unsuitable for the occasion I wanted it for.

Very pleased with this this dress. I have worn it with trainers at weekends, and dressed-up for work. It fits well on the shoulders and is a flattering shape (I am 168cm tall and size 14). I have not washed this yet.

This was a last-minute 'add to bag'...it was hard to see exactly what the pattern and style was online, but it turned out to be a lovely dress. Flattering frill collar, good length sleeves...and for once a waist line that actually sits on the waist! With a feminine frill valance, this is going to look lovely with ankle boots and black leather jacket, or trainers and denim jacket. Or...dress it up with some sexy heels. If I had to nitpick, all I'd say is that it could have been a little fuller from waist down, but that really is the tiniest, tiniest nitpick. Perfect midi length for me at 5ft 5 1/2in. A great last-minute buy.

I was hopeful this dress would be a great option for wearing with trainers or dressing up with boots or a heeled sandal. It wasn't. The material is very thin and poor quality for a £49.50 dress. I think selling a dress like this unlined or of this quality of material is unacceptable. Either the sizing is off or the fit is. It hugged my bum then kicked out at the bottom basically clinging to areas I didn't think it would.
