Pure Cotton Longline Trench

Nice trench coat, with good quality cut and fabric, but colour not for me, so will return. I was hoping for a dark honey/caramel colour, as per the majority of web images. Actual item is much lighter Sandy colour which is closest to the last website image taken in the street. True to size (bought my usual M&S 8) and I’m sure will be popular.

Excellent purchase. The material is good quality and drapes well. The length is also good. A very fair price for a smart addition to my wardrobe. I am sure it will get plenty of use. Well done M & S. More like your old self with all round quality.

Tried this trench on in-store and was just what I wanted but couldn't decide whether to go for the sandstone (not a colour I would normally go for) or blue so bought both intending to decide at home and bring one back. However, they're both lovely. Good fit (I'm 5'6" and size 10-12 but went for the 10 as I have narrow shoulders - although I won't be able to wear a thick jumper underneath) and also the quality seems good. They look just as good with a smart dress or jeans and pumps....all-in-all I have a horrible feeling that I'll end up keeping both. Just hope the blue keeps its' colour in the wash.

I ordered this in the sandstone colour. The coat is lovely - I’m 5’7” and the coat is knee length - I would have awarded 5 stars if it had been a bit longer! Handy side pockets. Nice detailing at the cuffs and it hangs nicely. The coat isn’t very heavy, so perfect for spring and autumn. Very versatile.

The Coat was better than expectation and the fit was good, it is very good value for the money.

Ordered two, one in my usual size and one a size bigger just in case. My usual size was fine, even with a jumper underneath. I had a cream coat like this from Marks ages ago. The belt had a buckle which I really liked but I shut it in a car door and broke it, so this might be more practical for me. Looks lovely on, could be dressed down casual or dressed up smart.

I liked the look and feel of this coat so was disappointed that I had to send it back. The length of the cost was too short for me. I’m 5 ft 9 and the coat didn’t reach my knees. Also the sleeves were too short.

Everything about this beautiful coat is perfect. It’s cut, it’s size, its colour and even down to the depth of the pockets (generous but doesn’t encourage me so carry around masses of nails and conkers to distort its line) - all of it is authentically excellent quality. This is one of those ‘lifers’; it’s true to the excellent quality I would expect from Marks and Sparks, not always forthcoming, sadly. Would recommend this without reservation. The ordering process was dead easy, too. They delivered it the next day to the teeny tiny food shop closest to my home.

Bought this online in the navy in a 14, picked up instore and tried on at home. Really good design, lovely weighty material, and great quality. I am 5ft 5 size 14 and 36b bust and it fitted well, with just my leggings and a thin polo underneath, still had a bit of room, which I liked. Length was good, reaching just below the knee, so good coverage in the rain! Buttons securely fastened on and love the lapels and belt, too. Feels like you actually have a coat on, unlike some of the cheaper alternatives in other stores, good lining too. Well worth the money and can be worn open or fastened depending on your look and the weather! Really thrilled with this item, very substantial trench, would love the other colourway too! Perhaps bring out a stone colour, would be good.

Lovely trenchcoat and very good quality, but I found it a little bit too long for me. Sadly I will be returning it tomorrow. I would certainly recommend it. Well done m&S on the high quality.

This was an update to my shorter Mac but was a disappointment for me. The tan courting was unflattering & I found the front shoulder detail too bulky & cluttered for me. It was beautifully made but the cotton seemed stiff & easily creased. This was a nearly.........& a good attempt at a classy traditional trenchant.......just not for me.
