Its a perfect classic style, great for both casual with jeans and for smarter occasions. The material is a nice weight and it will be in my wardrobe for many years to come

As others have mentioned the flap at the back of the coat sticks out; the addition of a button would have resolved this issue. But, so much to like about this classic trench in navy. Well made and long enough as midi length on my 5.4 frame. Sized up from 10 to 12 to add layers in colder weather. I will ask a seamstress to sew the flap down !

Lovely coat, nice style and fit and fab in navy. However, I am disappointed with the quality. My previous trench coat from autograph had a metal chain coat hook inside the neck which made it look expensive and this coat has just a cloth one. The buckle is not of good quality and the belt is floppy . the holes in the belt are not reinforced or well made. My niece bought one, too and she had it dry cleaned. Sadly, it has faded in parts. Be careful!

Ive had this trench coat for 2 years now and even though the colour has lost some of its brightness due to washing it is atill a great coat. I would ideally like to have it a little shorter. But still a very flattering design

I bought this coat in November. I have always wanted a trench coat because of the enduring style and sophistication. I wasn't disappointed, l love the coat and have received some compliments while wearing the coat. The only down side which has been mentioned by previous reviewers is the back flap. Unfortunately, it does not lie flat and can make you look as though you're ready to take off. A button at the bottom of the flap would solve the problem.

This is a lovely navy colour which is very flattering. As this is a softer colour than black. Love the double breasted style and it can be buttoned to the top of the neck. I bought a size up as I wanted to wear a jacket or jumper under it well done M and S. This is a real timeless classic.

Disappointing trench coat

No, I don't recommend this
I so wanted to like this coat but I’m afraid the colour is not as nice in reality as in the picture. It’s a very matt navy, reminding me of long ago school raincoats. Very prominent buttons didn’t add anything. Rather boring, in fact, I thought it rather expensive for what it was, so it’s gone straight back

Love the style. Colour is a nice navy blue. Fits like a dream I bought the size 12 and it is a perfect fit. Nice length, I have worn it with jeans and trousers looks great with both. Will not be warm enough for winter when it is cold as this is more of a Autumn/spring coat and when its raining.

I like this coat. I ordered a size larger than usual to enable me to wear my Aran-knit cardigan/lightly padded jacket for the colder months and feel that it should have had a bit more room. I found it tight if the collar is buttoned at the neck. However this is a ' smart ' looking coat and I kept it to wear with warm scarves.

Super Raincoat

I had been hunting for two or three years for a reasonably priced raincoat , of the same ilk as a creamy beige one I had from M&S many years ago. I was looking for pracicallity i.e. Full coverage from neck to well below knee for protection in bad weather. True 'trench coat' style and flair and in navy blue rather than the sandy colour currently in favour , not a colour I like or indeed that suits me. when the email regarding 20% off women's wear popped up in my emai, I ran a search on 'trench coats': more in hope than expectatation. I was truly amazed to find exactly what I had been looking for, a mid calf length rain coat from the Autograph range. I ordered , but convinced myself it would'nt turn out to be as good as it appeared on screen. I cannot stress enough how wrong I was, this coat is stylish, the material is good quality, it's well made, warm enough for Autumn, a great fit with room for a jumper when it's chilly and a super colour........ I would have happily have paid the full price. Thanks M&S from an extremely happy customer

I have been looking for an original style trench coat for a long time and I couldn't believe it when I spotted this. It is a very good fit, I always buy a size bigger to allow for winter jumpers and as I am 5'3" it comes to mid calf, which I love and looks amazing, couldn't believe the price because I have seen similar coats at double the cost. The material is really lovely and the finish is very good. I can't wait to wear it, thank you M & S

Good value, hard wearing material and washable The length is ok, i am 5’5” and it’s below my knee, on a personal note would have liked longer ordered the 16 and 18 as reviews indicated could be a little tight if you wanted to wear a thick jumper. I agree I am a standard 16 and was fine as long as only wearing a thin top so went for the 18 to give room

This coat is a much more tailored coat than the other 2 M&S trench coats on offer. It is longer more flattering for a curvy figure. Just a shame it is only available in navy.

I loved this coat, tried it on and it rained !! so put it on and went out. I got to the end of the road put my hands in the pockets to discover one of the pockets had a massive hole in it. So irritating . I wouldn't have brought it back if it hadn't been raining and I was wearing it. So every time I put my hand it my pocket I get irritated. Then a week later the inside button came off in my hand. Quality control at fault here. Shame... in this circumstance is there anything you can do M&S to stop my irritation ?? Would have been 5 * otherwise
