PETITE Double Breasted Coat

Lovely coat, I bought petite, which was a good fit but for the sleeves, which were still far too long. Why are M&S cutting back on clothes for ladies under 5’ 4” ?

I have 4 M&S petite coats which fit me perfectly and which I still wear. When I tried on this coat I though I looked strange - the sleeves were very long (I'm used to this in other petite ranges so this wasn't totally unexpected). However the pocket and lower buttons were very low and I'm of the opinion that this coat may have been from the standard range but just shortened for the petite range. I went back and had a look at it online and noticed that the girl modelling the coat is 5'9" - granted it looks like a jacket on her, but the sleeves fit perfectly. Come on M&S, your petite range used to be for ladies 5'3" and under, so why not find a model from that height range - there are plenty shorter ladies about. Your petite range is now almost non existent and this might be one reason it wasn't selling well before. If you had a small but decent range of long sleeve blouses, etc, cut to size, hopefully they would sell well, please give it a try!!

I bought this being sceptical about how it might fit as it's always been an impossible task to find trench coat that fits petite. To my surprise, nice materials and fits very nicely to my knees (I'm 5'2). The sleeves are slightly long but not a big deal. Might even order a beige colour when it becomes available.

At 5.1" I've been looking for a decent petite trench coat for over a year. This one seems to be often out of stock as it is only available online and after I saw some mixed reviews over the sizing, I hadn't rushed to try it. After buying several trenches from other places and returning them all, I had given up but then I saw this was in stock in my size and decided to snap it up. I'm so glad I did. The length of the coat and the sleeves is perfect for me, reaching just to the knee. The sizing is right, allowing room for a jumper underneath. There isn't too much volume, which seems the current trend with trenches, but I've found that style overwhelms my frame. Very happy with the Light Buff colour and the weight of the coat. Have worn a handful of times already and it's a perfect Spring trench for petites.

I needed a Petite Trench coat for work in the spring. Size 8 fitted just fine, sleeves were not too long like in other trench coats and the coat looks very smart but comfortable. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars it because it came stained on one of the sleeves and some of the buttons were loose. I’ll be keeping the coat however!

Fit wise only good part of this rain mac was the overall length, just under my knee but I am extra small - 4ft 7in. Sleeves were to the end of my fingers and this style cannot be shortened without dismantling the belt on the sleeves. Belt came more on hips than waist. 12 was major small - would not even fit as single let alone double breasted. Probably need Size 16 than usual 12. It is a very sensible and practical colour that could be worn with lots of things. Shame about fit - definitely Not Petite Scale. Returned it.

This arrived with a pen mark on the front also lots of hanging threads. Finishing was shockingly poor. Shape was also off for me. I ordered size 10 petite and sleeves too long and top half very big.

I am waiting to return this item unfortunately, as it doesn't fit. The style and the quality are perfect, but because I am only 5ft tall I ordered the petite size in 14. I am usually size 12, but sometimes the petite garments are a bit smaller all over. The sleeve length was perfect for me as usually I have problems with sleeves, but it was too big on my shoulders so doesn't look right. If only I could try on in store I would find the correct size. But the quality of the coat is first class.

I ordered this on line,delivery was prompt.I collected it from our local M&S food store.Brilliant helpful staff!Coat was a bit darker in colour than I expected.Disappointed when I tried it on.Fitted fine ,great length for me but double breasted style was very unflattering,made me look very square.Also the sleeves, despite being petite,were about 4 inches too long.Sadly had to return it. taff
