Before buying this bed I did plenty of research in to this bed. There are many reviews that talk about this bed disrupting their sleep due to the constant sounds from the brass bars. We'll at first we had the same issue. But I read the reviews again and soon saw how to fix the issue. The very top bar is in two pieces it's there were the problem is, all you need to do is tighten it. We've not had a issue since. I think the bed is beautiful just what I wanted for my 1940s style bedroom beautiful classic piece of furniture that will last years. The delivery men were also so helpful and kept me informed and phoned me minutes before their arrival. Thank you for a brilliantly smooth transaction. I will definitely buy more furniture from M&S now I know there well capable of handling large items. Plus the furniture has a ten year guarantee.

This is a well designed bed. Easy to assemble and very robust

I brought this for my daughter. It started to make squeaking noises after a few months. We have tightened the screws, which helped a little for a while, however, its now so bad its keeping her awake. Im faced with having to replace it, as it's not sustainable. Total waste of money.

I have had this bedstead for 19 years not and would say that it is one of the best investments I have ever made, I have had to tighten tops and bottoms of poles which can come loose at times but very easily fixed bed has never squeaked. Highly recommend this bed as I bout it in 2001 and I feel it will last a life time.

I had an engineer come out to check the problem To my surprise after tightening a few parts of the frame top and bottom end by simply turning till locked it hasn't made another squeak It also really helps to get the correct mattress to stop the friction between bed and frame nothing to high. I hope this helps.

As mentioned in other reviews this bed squeaks and rattles and keeps you awake most of the night. We have tried tightening it and removing poles that rattle but nothing makes a difference and the bed will have to be dismantled and a new one brought. Total waste of money and Marks & Spencers you should be looking in to these problems and sorting them out with the manufacturers. Do not buy this bed it is a waste of money.

The bed frame is absolutely beautiful but is so poorly designed that after months of terrible sleep it's now in pieces on the landing. I've had the bed less than 18 months. The bed was fine initially but eventually made so much noise it was seriously disrupting my sleep. Tightening it up solved the problem for a while, but it then got even worse and therefore dismantled, leaving me out of pocket for this frame and the new one I had to purchase to make sure my sanity remained intact! Ultimately, it's poor design, I really wouldn’t recommend at all.

Ordered this online having seen in store, read reviews which weren't favourable on this brass bed but were on gunmetal....weird...same bed different colour!! Anyway delivered quickly 2 friendly guys assembled it a d took away packinging. Well we love it....super stylish, solidly made NO SQUEAKS or movement on the frame....we have our own mattress which is heavy...super comfortable bed..thoroughly recommended...well done M & S another great product.
