Unmistakably French, this robust, nutty Gamay red is full of oaky tannins and bold bramble flavours. There's elegant red fruit, and even a touch of cranberry on the finish alongside firm guiding minerality. A fabulous food-matching style, with amazing tobacco, tar and raspberry aromas tempting you to take a sip.

About this bottle: This wonderfully robust red was created by skilled winemaker Alain Serveau, who has transformed the normally fruit-forward Gamay grape into a structured, sophisticated red wine. He keeps yields low in the vineyards to maintain elevated fruitiness, uses carbonic maceration (traditional in Beaujolais red-winemaking) in the winery, and matures the wine for eight to 12 months in oak casks to add depth and complexity. The Mâcon village of Pierreclos is situated in the extreme south of the Mâconnais appellation.
