Vintage: 2014

A fresh and fruity well-balanced white Burgundy, with delicious flavours of citrus fruit and apricot and a well-rounded, buttery note which lingers on the palate.

About this bottle: This excellent example of modern, rich white burgundy was made from 100% chardonnay grapes. The grapes were hand-picked from vines aged up to 70 years old, which give exceptionally ripe, concentrated flavours. Winemaker Fabrice Lesne aged the wine in French oak casks for 10 months to add subtle notes of richness and spice.

Vintage: 2019

A particularly ripe and fruity example of the fine French classic. This modern, youthful Sancerre has all the dry elegance, freshness and flinty edge typical of the style, but plenty of rich lemon flavour too.

About this bottle: The naturally expressive Sauvignon Blanc variety thrives in the limestone and clay hills of Sancerre, in the Loire Valley of northern France. This vibrant yet subtle wine is charged with flinty intensity and supple grace.

Vintage: 2017

Smooth and refined with flavours of berries and savoury spice.

About this bottle: Crozes-Hermitage in France’s northern Rhône Valley is renowned for its fine red wines made from Syrah. Inviting berry fruit flavours are overlaid with cinnamon spice and crushed black pepper, while the tannins are impressively smooth.

Vintage: 2019

A zesty dry white with elegant fresh gooseberry flavours and attractive hints of herbs and minerality.

About this bottle: This unoaked wine was blended using select parcels of pure Sauvignon Blanc fruit grown in selected vineyards in the Entre-Deux-Mers region of Bordeaux. Serve lightly chilled.

Vintage: 2017

A fresh, medium-bodied Burgundy that delivers initial crisp aromas of fresh redcurrants before the palate softens to ripe redcurrant jammy flavours and subtle hints of roasted cocoa and coffee beans.

About this bottle: M&S winemaker Sue Daniels worked with Alain Serveau on this wine that hails from grapes grown in the higher altitude Hautes Côtes de Beaune, helping the slower-ripening Pinot Noir retain freshness and vivacity with a silky soft palate. Alain insists on ageing part of the wine for 10 months in oak to add structure and texture.

Vintage: 2015

Ripe red and black fruits dominate this classic Bordeaux red with subtle spice notes revealed on the rounded palate.

About this bottle: The success of France’s Bordeaux region owes much to the gravel and clay soils of the Médoc area, home to many of the world’s most famous châteaux. M&S winemaker Belinda Kleinig selected this fruity claret made by expert winemaker Pascal Poussevin, for its intense bouquet and balanced structure.
