Château d'Armailhac - Single Bottle 1 of 1

Château d'Armailhac - Single Bottle

Product code: 00112376

Sorry, this item is no longer available

A classic Pauillac from 5th Growth Château d’Armailhac, with seductive Morello cherry, roasted coffee and toasted spice notes. Ready to drink.

Once part of the original Château Mouton-Rothschild estate, Château d’Armailhac was heralded as a 5th Cru Classé in the Official Classification of Bordeaux Wines in 1855. No other château has undergone as many changes, being previously known as Mouton d’Armailhacq, Mouton Baron Philippe and Mouton Baronne Philippe. The estate’s vineyard is planted to 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, all fairly densely planted to naturally restrict grape yields and promote fruit quality. The average vine age is 46 years, with some much older (the vineyard dates back to 1890). Fruit is picked by hand, by parcel, with each variety harvested and vinified separately. Winemaker Cédric Marc adjusts vinification techniques according to the vintage conditions and his assessment of the fruit as it arrives in the winery. The wine is matured in traditional barrels (25% new) for 12 months.
