Sorry, this item is no longer available

Deep garnet-red with purple edges, this bold Margaux offers powerful aromas of blackcurrants, morello cherries, roasted coffee and liquorice. In the mouth it is ripe and concentrated, with lively sweet fruit and spice complexities over the long finish.

The second wine of the prestigious second growth estate Château Lascombes, Chevalier de Lascombes is unique as a left-bank Bordeaux for using almost equal quantities of Cabernet Sauvignon (55%) and Merlot (45%) in their blend. Château Lascombes dates back to the 17th century and was once owned by Antoine, chevalier de Lascombes, from whom it takes its name. The estate's vineyards stretch over 112 hectares in the Margaux appellation and six in the Haut-Médoc. Vines are located in some of the most prized parcels of Margaux and have the advantage of being planted in a unique variety of soils. To mature ready for bottling, the blended wine was aged in French oak barrels for 16 months.
