Rated 1 out of 5 by Kantata Poor quality plant glued into pot
The plastic pot the orchid grows in has been glued rock solid to the bottom of the decorative ceramic pot so not only does the whole thing smell strongly of glue, but more importantly you can't lift the pot out of the ceramic so can't check or water the plant properly - there is no drainage (the kiss of death for orchids!). The only way to keep it alive will be to smash the ceramic and repot the plant completely.
The quality of the plant itself was also not good - bottom leaves yellowing/dying and spots / holes in a couple of the top leaves. The roots are probably being dissolved by glue!

I ordered an Orchid Hoop for both my mum and my mother-in-law, to be delivered on Mother's Day. Both arrived in very good time on the day, well wrapped and in tight bud. Over the following few days they have both begun to bloom and are now a mass of white flowers, some with a light pink tinge.
Both mums are absolutely delighted with them, loving the mass of flowers and the unusual shape. There are still plenty of flowers to come so the pleasure will continue for a long while yet.
Well worth ordering. Thank you M&S!

We were sent the Orchid Hoop as a Golden Wedding Anniversary gift. Packaging superb, plant and it's bowl delightful. So why do I rate it so poorly, and would not recommend it? Four days after delivery I tried to lift the plant gently out of the attractive ceramic globe in which it was delivered, in order to see if it required watering.
I have cared for various types of orchids for some years, and always lift from their container, leave in water with orchid feed (when about to or in flower) for about half an hour, and then leave to drain thorougly before returning the plant to container.
However it was impossible to lift it out, it was stuck firmly in to the base of the container. I also realised In trying to gently remove the plant that I could smell epoxy resin type glue! I returned the plant to it's packaging and took it to my nearest M&S.
A helpful member of staff tried to remove without success, she asked for help from a male member of staff who was slightly less concerned about possible damage to the plant, and after 5minutes he succeeded, and he too was aware of the very strong smell of the the epoxy glue. When the plant was finally free of the bowl, the whole of the 11cm diam base of plastic orchid pot was entirely covered with the resin!
I was given a Gift Certificate for the full value of the plant
and subsequently bought a replacement orchid, but not the hoop as it was not available from my closest branch.
I checked the replacement orchid could be removed from it's ceramic container. I asked that the M&S plant buyer be made aware of the manner in which this expensive orchid is being supplied. I do hope this happened.
