The single estate ‘Torre a Destra’ Chianti is the only ‘Cru’ wine that Castello della Paneretta produce. They make the wine solely from Sangiovese sourced from their 22 hectares of fine old vines between the villages of Barberino and Castellina. The ancient soils in this part of the Chianti Classico zone are the key to the wine’s complexity, which winemaker Nicola Berti has sought to bring out in the winery through careful handling and vinification of the fruit. Subsequent ageing of the wine in French oak barriques for 20 months, then years of bottle maturation, have evolved it ready for drinking.
