ready-rolled puff pastry
1 bunch
M&S king spring onions
King spring onions are available in selected stores. If you can’t find them, substitute for normal spring onions.
50 g
M&S 3-year-old Cornish Cruncher vintage cheddar , grated
30 mL
milk
80 g
watercress
1/2
lemon , juiced
as needed
M&S unfiltered extra virgin olive oil

Method

HIDE IMAGES
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180C fan. Unroll the ready-rolled puff pastry (1 sheet) onto a parchment-lined sheet. Score a line 1.5cm from the edge and prick all over in the centre with a fork.
Step 2
Slice the M&S king spring onions (1 bunch) very thinly into rounds.
Step 3
Sprinkle the M&S 3-year-old Cornish Cruncher vintage cheddar (50 g) all over the middle of the pastry then arrange the onions on top.
Step 4
Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Brush the edge of the pastry and on top of the onions with the milk (30 mL) .
Step 5
Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the pastry is cooked through.
Step 6
Dress the watercress (80 g) with lemon (1/2) and a drizzle of M&S unfiltered extra virgin olive oil (as needed) and serve alongside the tart.
