SPRING
BEDDING
GUIDE

Make switching up your bedding a breeze with these easy tips and tricks to help you keep cool on warmer nights

Stay comfortably cool

We’ve got you (very lightly) covered with lightweight duvets, soft linen and bedding that moderates your temperature while you sleep

1 Buy the right bedding for the season – it’s the best way to keep cool in warmer weather. Choose a spring duvet with a low tog rating: somewhere between a 1 tog duvet and a 4.5 tog duvet should see you through to summer. If in doubt, go for a lighter option and keep a blanket or throw on standby so you can layer up or down. Our Comfortably Cool duvets, duvet covers, sheets and pillowcases cleverly draw moisture away from your skin, helping to keep your body temperature lower all night – pretty cool, when you think about it.

2 (Don’t) see the light. Lighter spring evenings and mornings can disturb those crucial first and last few hours of sleep. Try blackout blinds or thicker curtains to block out the light, or an eye mask to keep you in blissful darkness after dawn.

3 Be clever with colour, from your decor to your bed linen – lighter tones like white, pale blue or

pale green will help you feel cool and serene while you’re getting ready for lights out. Scent can have a big impact, too, so bring home fragrance into the mix – choose a reed diffuser, available in store with fresh, clean notes like lemon, linen or cotton.

4 What you do before bed is just as crucial as your sheets. Cut out screen time an hour ahead of bedtime. If reading relaxes you, try a blue light filter for your phone or e-reader, to cancel out light that keeps your brain on high alert (or there’s always a good old-fashioned paperback). Ditch cold showers – a warm bath or shower will actually make you feel cooler when you get out. Add a sleep-inducing pillow mist to your wind-down routine, then lie back, close your eyes and drift away…
