M&S X THE DOODLE BOY

Discover our new kids’ daywear collaboration with viral young artist The Doodle Boy – 13 fun, fresh pieces featuring his signature scribbles

Introducing M&S x The Doodle Boy

Our exciting collaboration with young artist, cartoonist and social media-viral doodler Joe Whale – aka The Doodle Boy – is finally here. Comprising 13 versatile daywear pieces, all designed to be worn by either boys or girls, the edit features a selection of Joe’s signature doodles, from positive affirmations to quirky characters. Plus, to add to the feel-good factor, all profits from the M&S x The Doodle Boy collection will go to YoungMinds, the leading youth mental health charity in the UK.

“We’re delighted to be collaborating with the The Doodle Boy,” says Alexandra Dimitriu, director of kidswear at M&S. “Joe’s doodles resonate with so many children across the UK, as his positive self-expression in the form of cartoons and playful characters help and inspire in a multitude of ways.”

Pieces with personality

The M&S x The Doodle Boy collection includes a varsity-style bomber jacket, hoodies, joggers, relaxed cotton t-shirts and more – perfect for giving their everyday wardrobes a fun refresh. The clothing features some of The Doodle Boy’s positive slogans, such as ‘Stronger Than I Think’, ‘You Are Not Alone’ and ‘Find What You Love’ – reminders to kids to be themselves and embrace their creativity.

Not only does the collection look good, thanks to our partnership with YoungMinds, it does good, too. “We know that many young people are in need of support, with five children in every classroom struggling with their mental health,” says Laura Bunt, chief executive of YoungMinds. “We’re delighted that M&S are donating all the profits from The Doodle Boy collection to YoungMinds – this will help us deliver more practical support and advice to young people.”

About The Doodle Boy

14-year-old Joe Whale became an internet sensation when his art teacher asked if she could post his work on social media. This led to a local restaurant hiring him to doodle an entire wall in their dining room, and since then, his bold, playful doodles have gone viral on social media all over the world.

“I’m really excited to be working with M&S and YoungMinds on a clothing collection,” says Joe. “It’s so cool to see kids wearing pieces with my doodles – it almost brings my characters to life. Doodling really helps me to relax, and I hope that my artwork inspires others to get creative and have fun with their own doodles.”
