Short Sleeve Shift Dress

Pleased with the fit, length and quality. Very comfortable to wear too.

I have been searching for a little black dress for many weeks. Yes - Really. I have found a super style/quality fit and length in this dress. It fits my size 10 figure perfectly. It's the right length for my 5ft 3" height, just below the knee. The quality is in the type of fabric used for this dress.Well lined with a lovely long zip. So easy to step into. The style is both Classic and figure flattering. Haven't worn it yet but I know this will be suitable for many occasions, day or evening. What more could you ask of M & S. Keep them coming.

Zip broke immediately on trying the dress so had to return it. Can't comment any further as never actually got to wear it.

I really like this dress. The detail fitting it into the waist suits my shape. It is not perfect. As other reviewers noted, the sleeves are tight ( and not at all as loose as shown in the photographs of the live model). I took note of the comments about the short length and ordered a regular length even though I usually take short or petite fitting. I am glad I did. It is just above my knees. The only thing I dislike is that the lining is non-stretch, while the dress fabric includes elastene and therefore has some stretch to it. So really I am wearing the lining and not the dress. Why can't M&S line such dresses with their fine jersey lingerie fabric?

Love this dress, so comfy to wear and good quality material. If I was to order again I think it would be in a regular length as a little short on me even though I am only 5.4 ins in height.

loved the dress but,had reqular on the label which I ordered but turned to be short.!

I ordered a few different black dresses for work, all in the same size, but this was really tight! I would describe this as 'bodycon' not 'shift'. Had to send back.

Unfortunately the fit was a little too snug. However it would have been even more disappointing if the fit had been right because one sleeve was not properly fitted. Both sleeves were a little tight too; not good if you are fit & have muscles!

Excellent delivery service and dress well tailored. Perfect fit and also combines beautifully with little jackets. A must for the wardrobe.

If only this had been a couple of inches longer and the hem had been straight I would have kept it. It is great that M&S offer dresses in different lengths but unfortunate that their stock-keeping is so poor.

Thought this was going to be a perfect little number to include in the little black dress collection! Style is lovely and well made but rather small for a size 12 and I am an average size 12...so very disappointed and it was returned unfortunately!

I ordered this dress in two sizes for comparison, as we all know that each item varies depending on country of make. My usual size was too small, and the next size too big. Both sizes looked strange around the hip area (rather wide) and the length was shorter than I had anticipated. Both dresses were returned. The material was good however.

Looked nice, good quality Didn't suit my shape across the hips though.

Ordered on line at very short notice and delivered efficiently to store. I am 10 or 12 but 10 was a generous fit, and long is just below knee on me at 5'4". Just as well as 10 long was all that was available! In fact, just right thankfully. Happened to be a better fit and style than a couple of more expensive dresses in a bigger size. This is a great price for a smart, lined and practical dress - useful to have in wardrobe for the odd formal occasion.
