Pure Cotton Sateen Serendipity Bedding Set

The print is pretty but the fabric is quite rough. Would have loved it if the fabric was softer and better quality.

After buying a new king size duvet I had to find another cover. As we are both artists every new home item requires much discussion before agreement can be reached. I love some of the more intense, dramatic duvet designs but we needed something quieter for our sunny room. We make everything last so the design had to be interesting but not one that we might grow to dislike. After much perusing I found this Clarissa Hulse plant design which made us both happy as it relates to both our garden plants and our view of trees.

Chose this set for the colours and the material. Colours are perfect and as always with new bed linen I washed before using. It washes beautifully and didn’t crease much after hanging. Whoever designed it went to the trouble of putting really pretty buttons on the duvet cover which is a nice touch. But there’s a BUT, the fabric is not the same on the back of the duvet or the pillowcases and it is a startling white that makes the overall product look cheaper. I get that it’s expensive to use the patterned fabric but at least choose a more harmonious fabric, a soft oatmeal colour that matched the front would have looked so much better and classier and made the whole set look a lot less cheap! Considering the set wasn’t cheap at all I am a bit cheesed

It's a bit early to review it, as I haven't washed it yet, but so far I really love looking at it; the bright colours and the design give me a lot of pleasure.

I love the design and quality but was rather disappointed by the material on the underside. I like to turn my duvet daily and the fabric is only a lining backing. Even a plain sateen would have been better.

I really love this bedding. The colours are even more vibrant in reality than they are in the pictures (I'm referring to the one with the dark blue background). The picture shows a wall of a complimentary colour. I liked it so much that I have had the wall of the bedroom painted the same colour. It's beautiful.

The reverse side is pale green although on line it looks purple

Cannot see why it has 'sateen' in description, it is not satin or even shiny, just seems like cheap and fairly rough cotton. Would have returned had not husband washed it ready for use.
