INSTAGRAM INSIDERS: NEW-SEASON PRINTS

Want to nail Insta-worthy style? Then you need to follow the M&S Insiders on Instagram. Below, four of the team share their tips on how to work prints into your wardrobe

Statement tops

“Wearing a printed shirt with matching trousers is a really easy way to create a fun, statement outfit, so I love this scarf-pattern co-ord top and trousers – it’s been a massive hit on Instagram too. If it’s a bit OTT for you, wear a printed top (like this amazing snakeskin cashmere cardigan) with denim instead for a more chilled, everyday vibe.”

Autumn’s new floral

“I love the prettiness of these ditsy print dresses. The colours just scream autumn and the subtle floral print is so easy to wear. I’ve paired both dresses with a belt (I’m all about the accessories!) but they’d look just as cool without. I love how the choice of footwear totally changes the look: biker boots add edge to the pink mini dress, while the heels give a grown-up feminine touch to the mustard maxi.”

Big and bold

“I love wearing bold patterns, it’s such an easy way to make a statement – and more wearable than you think, particularly if you keep the tones muted. These pieces are two of my favourites: they’re both head-turning in their own way, but if you’re not a top-to-toe print kind of person, then the shirt worn with jeans is perfect.”

Autumnal tones

“I love the more tonal colour palette of autumn and this skirt and dress show it off perfectly. The dress is a gorgeous, traditional mix of russet orange and black whereas the skirt’s rich jewelled tones are a beautiful 2019 update. Also, for anyone who thinks they’re too curvy for slip skirts –  I did too until I tried this one on. Man, was I wrong! Just goes to show it’s worth trying everything. You never know when you’ll find something incredible.”
