WORKING FROM HOME STYLE TIPS

Wondering what on earth to wear when office life seems like a distant dream? We share the outfits and tips to give your remote working wardrobe a lift, from video-call chic to upgrading your loungewear

Stay-at-home tops and T-shirts

When it comes to looking good on a video call, it’s what’s above the desk that counts. That’s why now is a good time to update your tops and tees selection. Look for bright colours and bold shapes – anything too subtle will get lost on camera. This flutter-sleeved blouse is a great option if you want to look smart but stay comfy – the ruched waist is a particular plus – or look for interesting necklines, graphic prints and block colour.

Jeans that fit like loungewear

If you’ve become all too familiar with your pyjama bottoms over the past few months, you’ve probably jettisoned the very notion of wearing jeans. But hear us out, because denim doesn’t have to be stiff, scratchy or restrictive. In fact, there are plenty of soft, supple jeans to choose from that offer the comfort of loungewear with a major bonus: you can leave the house and feel properly dressed (our holey leggings don’t quite cut the mustard).

WFH – but make it dressy

Let’s talk dresses: no one wants to be trussed up in a backless, bodycon number to work from home. When it comes to easy laptop-to-lunchtime-walk style, it’s all about relaxed, flowing shapes. Look for timeless summer styles such as slip, swing and shirt dresses, all of which will see you through the hotter months this year, then re-emerge for more carefree summers ahead..

Always on call

Can you wear loungewear outside? It’s a question many of us have been grappling with and the answer is yes, if it involves a pair of soft, drawstring, wide-leg pants, such as these flowing beauties. Elsewhere, our favourite work-from-home bottoms include chino shorts and cotton pants, which tick the breathability and comfort boxes while maintaining a sense of style. Basically, we’re talking pieces you’ll come back to again and again, in a palette of classic colours including navy, khaki, camel and cream.
