A high quality Piedmont red from the heart of this classic region will delight followers of Italian reds. From the deep dark colour, through the pure nose of strawberry and plum, the first impression is of wonderful smoothness and concentration the palate is like velvet with a lick of chocolate and the approachability continues right through to the long finish.
This classy Italian red comes from the commune of La Morra, right in the Barolo area, from a single vineyard La Fontanelle, meaning the land of fountains. Winemaker Giulano Bedino harvests the grapes from South-East facing slopes, slowly ferments them and then ages the wine in a combination of older and new barrels to give the wine structure and complexity, as the Barbera grape has very little natural tannin.
