Zipped Shoulder Checked Pinafore Dress with Wool

Really sad about having to return this dress. The top of the back of this dress sits very high and puckers into the neck. The material is very thick and warm so great for the winter months, looked good with a black polo neck jumper. As the neck didn't fit too well I very sadly returned it to store.

Lovely patterned dress but too short for my age group. ( 45+ ) young women would not buy this dress.

Medium weight wool dress that has with a classic pattern for those that like simplicity and elegance. Would have been perfect just an inch longer but I will take out the hem and gain about 3/4s of an inch in length. Otherwise, this dress does the job of a good winter staple. I will pair it with an off white lace camisole with sleeves and the contrast will have heads turning!!

This thick pinafore with a percentage of wool, something hard to find in Marks these days, is warm and ideal for wear on a winters day when teamed with a long sleeved fitting polo neck sweater. I'm 5'3" and the short pinafore dress was almost right in length, but letting the for once proper hem down one inch, has made it a perfect length. I must say I did not like the small upper back neck lining facing which is a horrible crackling, rustling sounding fabric. But I cut most of this offending material away (perhaps five inches square approx) and inserted a new soft black lining piece on both neck sides. Please don't use this nasty bonded black facing fabric again. I love it now.

Versatile winter dress . Easy to dress up or down for the office or relaxed weekend to go to dress. Good quality reflected in this heavy weight fabric with splash of colour . I'm 5 4ins and size 8-10 . Size 10 was the perfect fit and length just right , just above the knee. Good to wear with fine jumper underneath . I teamed with the red/orange cashmere cardigan which picks out the Orange flashes in the dress . Great with chunky jumper over the top as doubles as a skirt .Good with boots or t bar court shoes . Great value for money and will see me through until spring with the versatile ways to wear.

Came across this dress in store, tried it on and was not disappointed. Yes, a little on the short side. I'm 5'6" with long legs and it comes just a couple of inches above my knee but to have it a tad longer just might make it look slightly frumpy and take away from the 60's style it gives. Material is heavy, ideal for this time of year and looks lovely with a thin black polo underneath, tights and boots. Sizing is spot on for me. Could be a little less expensive but bought with 20% discount, therefore I'm happy. Would love it M & S brought out more dresses in this style :)

This dress is short. I am 5ft 7 and it came to mid-thigh which, for me, in any situation is far too short - I do not want to flash my underwear to the whole of the office when I sit down!! The cut wasn't very flattering although I did like the fabric. I have noticed on a few reviews of skirts and dresses that they are very short this season - perhaps M & S should take note.

When I saw this dress online it looked like a smart dress ideal for work with clean lines. However when I received it it was very thick and nothing like the picture. It didn't even look the same colour. Very disappointed.

Lovely dress M&S, but sadly much too short for me (I'm 5ft 10in). I had to return it, but if it was a bit longer I definitely would have kept it. M&S - a long version would be fab!

This is a good quality dress for the winter and my usual size fitted me fine. There is a zip on each shoulder that I hadn't seen in the picture which gives it a slightly trendier feel. My only criticism is it comes up quite short, a couple of inches above the knee and I'm 5ft 6. If it had been longer I would not have hesitated in keeping it. More dresses in longer lengths please M & S!!!!
