Smocked Waist Ankle Tie Harem Trousers

I adore harem trousers and loved the look of these on-line especially the tie detail at the ankle. Unfortunately the sizing was not good. Looked at your chart and medium said it was for size 12-14. The cut of these was not generous at all. Obviously I should have ordered large (16-18!!) though wouldn't have expected to have to when I am no where near that size! Therefore not a good buying experience!

These particular harem trousers have a much better (i.e. longer) leg length than the other M&S styles. They started off on me (5'8") nicely full length and slightly pouched, just like the photograph; and although they lost some length after washing, they still reach my ankles. My only adverse comment is that they crease quite badly, especially if I sit around in them. However, the creases don't really matter in such a relaxed style, and don't show too much in the black. It would be great to get this style in a patterned material - how about it, M&S?
