THE PERFECT LITTLE BLACK DRESS
FOR VALENTINE’S DAY

Nothing has the power to boost confidence quite like a fabulous little black dress. Our M&S Insiders share their favourite LBDs for Valentine’s Day and beyond

The clever column dress, worn by Nicola

“I've chosen this ribbed column midi dress as my ideal Valentine’s date outfit. It’s sexy without being too showy, making it perfect for a dinner date or cocktails. I love the wrap-around tie detail, meaning you can really cinch in the waist to give you great shape. I’ve paired it with some slingback stiletto heels and kiss-proof red lipstick. Add in a mini bag such as this faux leather cross-body style and you are good to go and flirt the night away!”

The luxury LBD, worn by Caley

“Cut-out details are big for 2022 but can be a tricky look to navigate. This Jaeger dress is perfect with its subtle nod to the trend. It’s also one of the most flattering dresses I’ve bought in a long time and the perfect item to take you from desk to dinner on Valentine’s Day. Wear it with high-heeled boots and a leather coat from Autograph to dress it up for that special evening.”

The simple but sexy dress, worn by Sam

“I’ve become reliant on floaty dresses recently, so I choose this strappy LBD for Valentine’s Day as it’s simple and figure hugging. It’s also been so long since I wore heels and I want to feel extra feminine for the special occasion. This look has reminded me that keeping it simple can still be effective. After Valentine’s Day, I plan to dress it down with an oversized shirt and boots.”

The alternative little black dress, worn by Emma

Not a fan of the little black dress, or looking for a fresh take on the classic? Try this black and white gingham midi dress, as seen on M&S Insider Emma. “I’ve chosen this dress as love the print and collar. I’ve teamed it with chunky boots for a casual Valentine’s Day outfit. To celebrate the day of love, my partner and I are heading off out for a simple brunch in one of our favourite cafés.”
