Hoisin duck and Chinese pancakes

Slow Cooked aromatic smoked half duck

Fall-apart-tender duck with a sweet, glossy and sticky hoisin marinade, our Slow Cooked duck is off-the-scale delicious, and it’s totally fuss-free to prepare. Find it in store then try these easy serving ideas:

  • Load it up into our new Chinese-style pancakes, available in store. Top with thinly shredded cucumber and spring onions that have been steeped in a little rice wine vinegar, then let everyone build their own for the ultimate get-stuck-in dinner.
  • Shred the duck, then serve over sticky rice with a crunchy salad of shredded radish, red cabbage, sugar snap peas and edamame beans.
  • Got leftovers? For an indulgent weekend brunch, reheat the duck then serve in a fluffy brioche bun with a fried egg on top and a handful of lemon-dressed rocket.

Perfect pairing: the rich, fruity flavours and aromatic spices of this duck dish work a treat with our Classics 2018 zinfandel.

Slow Cooked roast lamb shoulder

Thought you couldn’t enjoy mouth-wateringly soft, cooked-to-perfection slow-cooked lamb on a weeknight? Think again! Our Slow Cooked roast lamb shoulder, which comes with a rich, meaty lamb gravy, is ready in just 45 minutes. Try these delicious ideas:

  • Give a speedy lamb roast a go. Serve with a quick traybake of roasted potatoes, butternut squash, red onions and carrots, alongside steamed green beans and mint sauce, for an any-night-of-the-week roast dinner (with hardly any washing up).
  • Try a shortcut lamb hotpot recipe. Cook then shred the meat. Sweat onions, carrot and celery, then add the shredded meat and gravy. Top with thinly sliced potatoes and bake until the potatoes are tender.
  • Use up the leftovers by spooning shredded lamb into squares of puff pastry. Fold to form a triangle shape, and seal with beaten egg. Brush with more egg, then bake until golden.

Perfect pairing: delicious alongside a rich red, such as our Fleur de Moussas Médoc.

Italian-style beef ragu

Slow Cooked Italian-style beef ragu

Bring a taste of Italy home with this hearty beef ragu, made with beef that’s simmered in a herby red wine and tomato sauce, until it totally melts in the mouth. Then get creative with these delicious serving ideas:

  • Toss through fresh egg pappardelle, then finish with a generous grating of parmesan and some torn fresh basil leaves.
  • Serve spooned over soft polenta, cooked with butter and parmesan, and a simple salad of rocket, olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
  • Spoon into halved butternut squash drizzled in a little olive oil, then bake in the oven until the squash is tender.

Perfect pairing: with its notes of red fruits and smooth finish, our Classics chianti reserva is a perfect partner to this robust beef ragu.

Slow Cooked Mexican style pulled chicken

These tender chicken thighs are coated in a flavour-packed fajita-style marinade before being slowly cooked so the meat pulls apart and stays totally tender. Give them a go in these easy recipe suggestions:

  • Load up onto fluffy tortilla wraps, and serve with salsa, guacamole, a squeeze of lime and some fresh coriander. Try bringing everything to the table for help-yourself family taco night.
  • Serve with roasted sweet potato wedges and a charred corn salad. To make the salad, heat oil in a frying pan then add a tin of drained sweetcorn. Don’t move the pan too much – you want the corn to pop and char. Once the corn is brown, stir through finely chopped onions and red chillies, and dress with lime juice.
  • Spoon leftover chicken into a baguette along with a squeeze of chipotle mayo and crunchy iceberg lettuce. Wrap up and take for lunch, or enjoy straight away.

Perfect pairing: a refreshing beer will work a treat with this dish – something light and zesty, such as our double hopped citra IPA.

Beef, ale and onion stew

Slow Cooked beef, ale and onion

If you’re looking for some cold-weather comfort food, this is it. Our 100% beef simmered with rich ale and sweet onions until it falls apart at the touch of a fork. And it’s super quick to prepare by just popping in the oven! Pick up in store and try our serving suggestions:

  • You can’t go wrong with fluffy mashed potato (fluffy varieties of spud, such as Maris Piper or King Edward, work best for smooth mash). Stir a spoonful of wholegrain mustard through the mash, then serve with the beef and some simple steamed cabbage greens.
  • Spoon into a baking dish then top with a mixture of grated parsnip and celeriac. Drizzle with a little oil then bake until the top is gorgeously golden.
  • Make a hearty pie in less than half the time by spooning into a pie dish lined with a sheet of shortcrust pastry. Top with another round of pastry, using a beaten egg to seal, and crimp the edges. Brush with a beaten egg and bake until the pastry is golden brown. Irresistible.

Perfect pairing: a full-bodied red, such as our fantastic-value Classics claret, with its notes of blackberry and plum, will work brilliantly alongside.
