A JACKET FOR ALL SEASONS

We’ve stripped back the classic mac to its key features, making it spring’s essential jacket

If necessity is the mother of invention, then boy oh boy is it not a surprise that the mackintosh was invented in Britain. Famed for an innate understanding of rain owing to their less-than-reliable climate, they had to figure out a way to keep it off. And so the mac was born, a lighter-weight jacket coated with a finish that repels water. This spring we’ve refined this signature taupe style by stripping it back to a minimal trench. A hidden hood is handy in the event of a storm, while its light padding makes it ideal over a jumper when it’s cold or a pure-cotton shirt later in the season.
