A Terrible Red

No, I don't recommend this

My husband bought this Malbec and it was not a cheap wine. Year 2013 very dissapointed. The first impression was the smell just like white spirit- then when i tasted it it was very acidic. it got a bit better with letting it sit and breathe for a while. When we got to the last couple of glasses there was a lot of sludge in both glasses and the bottle. Not sure if this was off ???

A very good red indeed.

Yes, I recommend this

I was just thinking how pleasant this wine is when I decided to look for it on the internet and came across these two poor reviews. I can only imagine that those two reviewers had a bad batch of this wine because the glass I'm now sipping is very good indeed. As soon as I tasted it, I thought that it had a lovely "settled" and "aged" quality to it. It is quite full bodied and has a fine bouquet. There is nothing "acidic" in this at all. I wouldn't want to compare it to an Argentinian or other New World malbec - this is French and different from those - less "in your face" with the fruitiness for sure but I would argue far more complex and rich. I would buy this if you like French wine. It's a good example of why French is best and M&S choose well.

Not a great advert for French Malbec

No, I don't recommend this

This wine is sharp and acidic, not a patch on Argentinian Malbecs at the same price range.
