Paying homage to the Belle Époque floral fragrance of old, Shay & Blue’s Amber Rose is a compelling modern version. The perfume house’s co-founder, Dom De Vetta, explains why.

When I was creating Shay & Blue’s Amber Rose, I wanted it to be like one of those grand, romantic fragrances, but brought up to date. We put real flowers, fruit and spices in our fragrance, which is very unusual these days. Amber Rose features the precious May rose, which is hand-picked in Grasse in the south of France (the perfume capital of the world); it’s the most expensive rose you can use in perfume. We blend May rose with refined white amber, which gives the scent a smooth white-chocolate effect. The end result is modern, romantic and thoroughly elegant.
