Sparks Christmas

Sparks Christmas advert screening

Sparks prize draw winners joined us for a preview of the Christmas TV advert, canapés and bubbly

What you said

"Thank you again for a wonderful evening in Paddington last night. We found the Christmas advertisement very endearing. I woke up this morning almost expecting to see a sprinkle of snow on the ground. We also thoroughly enjoyed sampling all the delicious canapés. The Paddington Bear gift was such a lovely, thoughtful idea. I will unashamedly be holding onto mine, despite my daughter's pleas to the contrary, as I couldn't 'bear' to part with it. Everyone we chatted to in your team was delightful and made us feel so welcome."

How to make a snow-globe flower arrangement

What do you need?

1 goldfish bowl 28cm
1/3 block of oasis
Approximately 40 small (2-2½”) pieces of noble fir snowed
1 frosted parvi eucalyptus, cut into small (3-4") pieces
1 glittered eryngium (minimum 3 heads)
1 litre artificial snow (approximately 1/3 bowl full)
4 glittered silver white Kenyan roses, cut to approximately 2½"
3 snowed white avalanche roses, cut to approximately 3”

SC01

1

Fill the bowl with snow. Trim the oasis by a third and round the corners with your hand, then cover the oasis with the snowed noble fir pieces.

2

Add the frosted parvi pieces evenly throughout and then the eryngium heads – ideally three around the sides and one off-centre at the top.

3

Place the dome into the bowl, then add the glittered white Kenyan roses. Try to get three around the sides and one directly on top.

4

Finally, add the three snowed white avalanche roses in a triangle on the top of the dome, facing outwards.

What you said

"Thank you very much for the flower-arranging masterclass yesterday. I was delighted to have the opportunity to attend the event with my husband.

Judging by the accents we probably travelled the furthest distance – 300 miles from Sunderland – but it was certainly worthwhile. We enjoyed the evening.

We travelled home today by train with our Christmas pudding and tied flowers. Tonight the arrangements hold pride of place in our home."
