This wine had me stumped at first as I smelled aromas of leather and tastes of vanilla and therefore thought it had been oaked, however the wine has seen no oak during it’s production or maturation. The other predominant aroma was cherry and it is was cherry (sour) that dominated the palate . The wine had a medium acidity and the tannins were low due to that lack of oak. The finish was fairly short. The wine is at its best now and needs to be drunk within the year. This wine would work well chilled in the summer with some olives and other meze dishes.
