STEFFY DEGREFF’S TOP TIPS FOR HALLOWEEN

Balancing spooky and stylish is a treat this Halloween with top tips from fashion blogger and mum Steffy Degreff, of Steffy’s Pros & Cons

COUNTDOWN TO HALLOWEEN

“I’m a Halloween fanatic: the decor, the costumes, trick or treating, – I love the traditions behind it. I can remember it always being a big deal when I was growing up and I love bringing that mentality in my own home.

“I start thinking about decorations pretty early so it doesn’t just feel like you’re putting it up then taking it down right away before the Christmas decorations go up. I love getting about two months out of fall decor before it turns to holiday decor!

“The same holds true for the outfits I’ve chosen – they can be worn throughout the season. I only invest in pieces I know I can wear at least three ways and I feel this is true of all of the clothes here.”

TRICKS & TREATS

“Some must-dos to prepare for Halloween in our home are picking apples and baking a pie with them, visiting a pumpkin patch and carving them, and shopping for mums [chrysanthemums] to decorate the porch and patio with. This year we’ll go trick-or-treating with friends nearby, then after we’ll all eat dinner together while the kids play.

“The cardigan in this look is SO special, it's the kind of piece people notice on the street and ask about. There's something classic about it, but it’s unique at the same time.

“This green skirt is also a perfect fall-to-winter piece – and it’s great value too. Around the holidays, it would look so cute with a plaid top.”

FROM FALL TO THE FESTIVE SEASON

“My home decor includes leaf garlands in my living room and on the railings in the front of our home, pumpkins and mums. I love adding special touches with fake pumpkins, festive glasses, pops of orange and of course candy.

“This mustard-yellow turtleneck is such a wardrobe staple – it can be styled in so many different ways.

“These jeans fit extremely well, and I love that the rise is high enough that you can tuck in a sweater or a tee in the front – it’s such an on-trend look. I absolutely love a checked skirt too, and it can be carried all the way through to the holiday season and beyond with a pair of tights.

“Happy Halloween!”
