Shower & Checked Mac with Belt

Looked for a Mac for some time liked this due to colour very practical will also be suitable for Autumn wear- wore it on Saturday in heavy shower a most suitable buy especially as 20% off & free delivery.

When you get it right Marks, you get it right. Stylish, good fit, great colour. It's not as short on me, 5' 2", as it is on the model, but, for me, that was a bonus. I'm hoping it rains soon!!!

I wanted a lightweight rainproof coat that also looked stylish and smart but could be dressed down with jeans. This fitted the bill perfectly. I originally ordered a size 14 which is my normal size but then swapped it for a size 12 as it was a little on the large size, especially round the bust area. The 12 is perfect and am very pleased with it. My only criticism would be the collar which stands up a little but that is probably the way it was intended. I found the checks matched perfectly on both sizes so I think the person who had one that didn't was just unlucky.

Pretty poor pickings when looking for a trench this April. Tried this on as a last resort - at flagship Newcastle store. Wow, it looked great. Quirky enough not to make me feel my age, practical fabric that won't crease and should be showerproof. (Haven't tested this yet!) Had a £10 Premium Club voucher so the price was even better. A bargain. On quality I examined four garments in size 12 and chose the best of the bunch, ensuring the checks matched just so at the front, around the pockets and along seams. Mine was the only one that was almost perfect, so take care if you decide to purchase.

I like this style and I can wear bootleg trouser with a polo neck jumper on it.

I bought this for a tour to France, end of February. We were recommended to take a lightweight raincoat so I bought this. This coat did not keep me warm but then it was not supposed to as it was a mac and not a winter coat so I wore warm clothes underneath. The mac was also semi wind proof as well. I like that the mac buttons right up to the neck as well to keep the wind out. We had a torrential rainstorm one afternoon with no shelter. This coat kept every drop of rain out! My coat wasn't just shower resistant but storm proof. The rain just ran off the fabric surface. On our last day it just poured as well and again I was dry as a bone. I only wish it had had a detachable hood. It was totally crease resistant as well. Sitting on board planes, on coaches in airports and trains and no creases. It is a good fit but I don't look good with a tied belt so I tied it at the back in a permanent bow to give a better shape for me. Everyone was amazed at how good this mac was, how inexpensive it was and people in expensive rain proofs looked like drowned rats. A magnificent stylish mac, well done M&S, a triumph!
