Autumn is the perfect time to indulge in the best of the season as colourful greens, oranges and purples like cabbage, squash, beetroot, artichoke and wild mushrooms come into their own. We're going green with our new range of exciting vegetarian mains and side dishes that put veg centre stage
Forget late summer barbecues: with the arrival of colder weather, it's safe to say that the Sunday roast is back. Let the meat take a back seat and go to town with the trimmings this month by serving up our new sumptuous sides. Head to store to pick up our earthy, creamy The Collection truffled cauliflower cheese, which manages to turn an everyday classic into a luxury and is perfect with roast beef, as well as chicken. Add colour with seasonal greens with porcini and thyme butter – a fresh mix of green beans, kale and tenderstem broccoli; and if you thought you couldn't make creamy mash any better, think again with our parmesan and roast garlic mash.
We've launched an exciting new vegetarian range made for all of you who want to avoid or cut down on meat. Say hello to your new meat-free Monday life-savers with 13 new tasty veggie dishes including edamame bean burgers, vibrant beetroot falafel, sweet potato sausages and, for the first time, two plant-based soy proteins, both suitable for vegans. Our veggie chunks are designed to replace chicken in recipes, while veggie mince is a delicious alternative to beef mince.
M&S Product Developer Katie Squire explains: “We have been on a mission to find the tastiest plant-based alternatives to meat, and are very excited to be finally launching these products. They have been scientifically developed to replicate meat in terms of taste, texture and even smell, appealing to those taking a ‘flexitarian’ approach to meat reduction.”
The soy proteins we've used are are high in protein, low in calories and also gluten-free. And we haven't forgotten vegans either with our sweetcorn and chickpea burgers and edamame bean burgers, both of which are Eat Well and count as one of your five a day!
Our colourful new lines are in store this month, and some will be available to shop online soon.
