About this bottle: This Torrontés is from Bodegas Fabre in Mendoza’s Uco Valley, a winery founded in the early 1990s by French winemaker Herve Joyaux Fabre. He moved from his native Bordeaux after falling in love with the Mendocenean terroir, and this punchy wine is a real testament to his vision.

About this bottle: South African legend Ken Forrester earned his reputation making Chenin Blanc wines, but turns his attention to the more affable Sauvignon Blanc here. The grape variety grows exceptionally well in Ken’s picture-postcard Stellenbosch vineyards, creating highly expressive wines.

About this bottle: Despite the ancient heritage of the estate, this is a very 21st Century wine. Winemaker David Alcaraz balances the traditions of the Pays d’Oc with some nifty modern touches, such as night-harvesting the grapes for freshness and using just enough oak to flesh out the Chardonnay.

About this bottle: Verdejo is a new grape within Spain’s Campo de Borja DO (it’s mostly found over in the northwest). But winemaker Roberto Perez had a hunch the terroir around Flor de Anon was well suited to it, and as this complex and mouth-wateringly fragrant wine shows, his hunch paid off.
