Best of British Jacquard Dot Shift Dress with Silk

I saw this dress on line and thought it would be one of those useful solid additions to my wardrobe - I have not been disappointed. Simple style but slightly unusual. I am delighted with the fit on the hips waist and shoulders. Lovely quality material and it doesn't seem to crease at all - hurrah.! Love it.

Ordered this dress in the sale in a size 14. Fabulous quality and good fit. It could've been an inch longer though. I loved the A line shape which is a bit different for me and in my view makes it more suitable for any occasion. Very expensive at full price but at sale price it was good value. .

Having read customers reviews about the busy pattern and the hem showing I was a little nervous about ordering this dress. However I have a wide selection of clothes from The Best of British range and this dress would perfectly slot in with my other garments. The dress arrived perfectly packaged and it was very exciting opening the box. The dress was perfect in every way. Beautiful weighty fabric, perfect fit, pattern not too busy but still striking and the usual extremely high standard of The Best of British. Please bring out another collection in this range. I am a fussy lady who supports British manufacturing and demands quality and integrity in everything I buy. Well done and "thank you".

I ordered my usual size (14) but once I had collected it and tried it on it was enormous so I had to take it back. It did not have the problem with the lining that some other reviewers noted though. I was very disappointed to see that this is really poor for a dress that is supposedly good quality. I am a size 14 and usually buy Petite range but this made me look like I was wearing a pair of curtains. Not a best of british design for me and I returned the item.

As I liked the colour and fabric, I ordered a size 12, collected it and took it home to try. I was very disappointed to see that, whilst it fit (which it really shouldn't have - I am a clear size 14), it had the problem of the lining at the front being longer than the dress. I think this is really poor for a dress that is supposedly good quality. As I like the dress I shall probably keep it and take up the lining, but I really shouldn't have to do this. I would have hoped that M&S would have done something about this as it is obviously a problem with many (but not all) of these dresses.

I have managed to get this dress at the right price-on the last day of the on-line sale last week. I had already managed to buy one in the sale at Fosse Park- somebody had returned one and it looked great. So much better than on the hanger. I would definitely recommend ordering one to try. Unfortunately in Leicester the only way to actually see one in the flesh is to order it and try.
