Step-Tone™ Slip-On Ballerina Shoes

I have been buying shoes from M&S for over 20 years and I could not understand why M&S size 6 did not fit anymore, my feet certainly have not shrunk, then the reason finally dawned on me when I tried these shoes on and realised that M&S have altered all their sizes on shoes. In M&S size 6 is NOW 39 -1/2 whereas any other shoe shop on your local high street, or even a high end shoe shop will have it as size 39.. Would be gratful for an explanation.. Or better still, sizing being in line with every other shoe shop.

These are very comfy shoes. I am usually a seven and a half but bought a seven. They are a perfect fit. Am going to order now in the other colour.

I bought these in pewter. I usually wear a 6 and knew that it was going to be big after reading the reviews but didn't know it was going to be THIS big. I am currently wearing my pair with TWO insoles and yet it's a little loose. As I live in Australia, returning would be an issue and based on other reviews I think size 5 would be too small. A pity really. Was planning to order 2 more pairs if these worked. Half sizes please MS.

I lke the pewter colour and the ballerina style and the shoes are very versatile. However, I found the sizes very inconsistent and had to try an armful of these in store in order to find a pair that fitted. My normal size is a slightly wide 6, but I had to try a pile of 5s and 6s before finding a pair of 6s that fit when lined with slim insoles. They are too deep really , but quite comfortable with the insoles. I wouldn't have risked buying these shoes online because the size seems to vary from pair to pair.

I thought these shoes would be excellent. They are so light and comfortable but they gape so much at the side I unfortunately had to take them back. Very disappointed. Also the availability of half sizes would be helpful.

I have started to walk to work and needed some flats that were comfy but supportive. Having read other reviews was unsure which size to order. I'm usually a 5.5 to 6 but as they don't come in half sizes and other reviewers found they came up large, I ordered a 5 but it was too small. Changed them for a 6 which is on the large size and so they do tend to slop up and down as I walk and have given me a blister on my heel as result. Despite this, they are very cushioned and nice and light so all in all would recommend. Price is on the high side for flats but if they last, then they will be worth it.

I have these shoes in size 6 and they are extremely comfy. I normally would take 61/2 . Thought I'd treat my daughter to a pair so got her size 8 which is her normal size. They were huge so had to be returned

These shoes are comfortable and look good; my only gripe is that they are slightly bigger than usual so I had to buy insoles. As other reviewers have mentioned half sizes would solve this problem. Overall I am pleased with them.

very cumfy shoes, but are a large fit! i take a uk 6 but will have to buy a 5 in this shoe.

Bought these for work after reading some good reviews. I work in retail so am on my feet all day. So comfy, good soles, practical but pretty!

I bought these when there was price promotion or else it is too expensive. It is on the large size and seems to get bigger with wear. I do use them for commuting to and from work and find them perfect for the job. No pinching or blisters or anything especially the cotton rim detail which makes it very comfortable. Wished you had this in patent nude colour for summer odd shower days!

Really wide ,had to wear with insoles in which may defeat the objective but havn't had them of my feet, nice winter to summer shoes.

I usually take a size 41/2 but sometimes a 5 in flats, so ordered these in a size 4 and size 5 after reading many of the reviews. Unfortunately the 5 is way too large and the 4 just too small! Please M&S could you try and offer half sizes? They do seem to be quite cheaply made and the step-tone sole not very substantial. Unfortunately will be returning these.
